Best Boot Customization in Calgary

I have good-fitting boots, but they need some tweaking for pain on my instep, which seems to radiate to the rest of my foot over more time on the hill. Looking for recommendations on who to go to, I've heard good things about Fresh, Lou's and Mountain Bike City, but I'm not sure how credible those opinions are (I got the boots on forms last year so there isn't really any shop that I purchased them from which I could go to). I just don't want some part time punk who doesn't know what he's doing messing around with them.

I would consider going to Banff if necessary, but I really want to get this done on Saturday. The other option that I though might be good is the shop at Louise, since I'd be in and out so frequently to make more minor adjustments after skiing them to find the best solution, but I'm not sure about their experience and knowledge up there.

Jong question here, but what should I expect to be charged? I've heard some people say it could be free, and I've heard other random dollar amounts. Can't necessarily afford custom footbeds right now, but if the other customizations would be included in the cost then I guess it would definately be worth it.

Ever ski Fernie? Go to Top Shelf Snowsports, call ahead to book an appointment. Why get your boots fixed in Calgary, they punch, you drive two hours to test, it needs tweeking you drive two hours back, tweek, drive two hours to test etc. Do it slopeside. These guys are the best

the calgary options you have listed are all good bets, IF you get soem good staff. Lou does good work, but was some "out of the box" ideas, some that work for some people some don't.

Banff, ultimate fit center. All they do is fit/sell boots, no rentals, no jackets, no kids stuff

Wilsons in LL is in the village, not on hill, Talk to Rob, other staff are ???

Topshelf in Fernie is great too. good guys, great tools and the skills to use them.

Price: what do you need done? (kind of like how much to fix my car?) Most work is $45ish + footbeds if needed, they range from $50 - $150
The boot work is free if you buy the boots from us, but we work on anyones.

Lou's again, Warren at Mtn Bike City and as mtnlion says DO NOT go up the hill to get the work done. $s really depends on what needs doing. Instep can be very simply and they can also be very tricky depending on many things.

3-9 daily.

why not ski the day and lets see what the issues are after skiing?

If you can get to Norquay they are open Fri nights.

If we have to we can make something work before skiing, but after is WAY better

not to take away from mtnlion, but I will have to say the boys at Top Shelf are definately world class. I've heard about them before I even moved to Fernie and now I work in the Griz Inn with them. Great guys and they are the best in the game.

I did end up going to mntlion's shop and have been very impressed with their knowledge and level of service. Everything so far has been very effective, and I would definitely recommend them.
