Question Fuck. WTF is there to do in the shithole that is Dallas...or Texas for that matter?

Slim pickings in the search results.
    http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ghlight=Dallas

I'm being shipped out for 5 fucking days in the shithole that is Texas next week for work. That's 5 more days than I want to be in a flat hot landlocked hellhole, and a surefire guarantee that next week in CA will be full of pow dumps and/or solid barrels.

Q's: What the fuck is there to do in Dallas? Good places to eat? Gentlemens clubs?

I was there for a previous company in 2003, which was cool because it was an alcohol-induced blur of "team building activities" for the entire Americas Sales Force which conveniently took place in countless Dallas strip clubs. This time I'm rolling solo. Yawn.

There is actually great food in Dallas, believe it or not. There is also tons of hyper-gay line dancing, should be a lot of fun. Please bring a camera, we will need a proper TR.

Well, if you could grab a flyrod and get away to Houston and fish for redfish down in Galveston or Christmas Bay, you'd have a good time. Atleast I would. You damn surf bum.

Texas is a fucking hellhole populated by meth-heads, stupid-ass rednecks and preppies (none of the above are mutually exclusive), but it is not land-locked.

    Good luck.

Except for Austin. That place ROCKS. (but does contain all of the above, but so does Colorado, if you think about it...except CO. IS land locked!)

Austin Mt. Biking is freaking AMAZING, for those who dont know.

    Good luck.

I meant Dallas as landlocked. As a surfer, anything not facing the Pacific, Atlantic or Indian Ocean migh as well be landlocked

"Texas Surf" was one of the first things I googled as soon as I heard of this 5-day sentence.

I will give credit where credit is due though: The strip clubs I went to on my last visit were some of the best I've been to.

Edit: Oh, and for logistical purposes I'm limited to Dallas and surrounding areas.

Well, the last time I was in Dallas it rained a foot and we swam back to our hotel, so yes it is a hell hole.

There is a Fogo de Chao there (Brazillian Steakhouse) : http://www.fogodechao.com/locations.htm

And some other good bars near the AA Center. Maybe take in a Dallas Stars game if you like hockey?
Not much in the way of adventure activities though.

In Texas there's no zoning, so you can put your business wherever you think you might find customers.

surprised no one has said in texas there ain't nothing to do but steers and queers....
Our world is full of surrender at the first sign of adversity, do not give up when the challenge meets you, meet the challenge. Through perseverance comes the rewards, the rewards that make life so enjoyable.

Seize the day, trusting little in the future.

if you want something, go after it. if you want to screw someone over, look DEEP in your heart and realize Karma is a bitch

because that would make the gentlemen club scene very awkward.

When a buddy of mine played for the Stars he lived above one of the strip joints. I heard nothing but good things about the after game beers back at his pad. Good "dancers"

I seem to remember that Houston has the highest number of strip clubs per capita, but that is a 4-5 hour drive south...

Having just come back from a meeting in dallas, I highly reccomend The Lodge - quite possibly the finest gentlemen's club in the US

Don't be dissin' my hometown like that BEOTCH. Dallas is actually a really cool city. That said, there's really not much to do besides shop and eat.

Anyway a few gems not to be missed:
If you want to do the party/music/hang-out scene, check out Lower Greenville and Deep Ellum.

Deep Ellum also has one of my favorite tex-mex spots:
    Pepe's & Mito's Mexican Cafe
    2911 Elm St, Dallas, TX

...which is a strong contender with my all-time favorite:
    http://www.miastexmex.com/

For BBQ there are a ton of places but Dicky's is close to where my family lives so we always go there (there's even one in the airport now):
    Dicky’s BBQ: Knox/Henderson & Central – 75 (east side of Central)

Other than that, there's a 9-mile path around White Rock Lake for running and riding and whatnot. Not much outdoor recreation in the city really. You can go to any of the big malls (Northpark, Galleria, etc.) for shopping and food, etc.

oh and iceman - the no zoning deal is only in Houston, which is part of why that city is such a craphole.

Maybe you should stop being a desk-jockey fag, and get a job that doesn't require sitting on your fat ass all day selling crap?

    Hahaha!

SuPu= Desk Jocky, middle mangament sales fag!

For all of the "I'm a big tough stud who's going to kick your ass" bullshit you spout, in fact...you're just a fucking cubicle monkey! hahahaha!

There's one of those Brazilian steak house's downtown, all you can eat. Other than that, find out where the LAN Chile stewardess's are housed, and wait at the bar.
