Mine started normal enough, submitting a 'sample'. Always fun, at least that was painless...(but was a junkshow, all with time sensitive cargo)
Then, to kill some time, I dropped in on my orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Rork, just to say hi, and complain a bit about some lingering pain four years after my ACL recon..well, twenty minutes later, I am getting an MRI, and now need surgery for a miniscus tear. Yummy.
All this made me late for an appointment with my urologist, who took one look/feel at the ol' boys, and sent me for a sonogram, (I think) and then confirmed that I probably need another surgery. Fun, fun, fun.
Good thing I didn't get the bloodwork done today I was hoping for, I am sure given the nature of the rest of the day, my Liver, Kidney, and Spleen are on the border of malfunction.
And my ankles hurt.
Fuck, turning forty is really somethin'!!
(which means I probably need a prostate exam...at least my urologist has small fingers!)
I had a meniscus tear, patella tear, and articular tear scoped on Oct. 20th. I'm 3 weeks and 3 days post-op and feel like I could ski fine right now. I was on the bike on day 4 and can now run up and down stairs relatively pain-free. I don't think I'd want to jump off anything or ski bumps right at the moment but in another couple of weeks, I could probably do whatever I want.
Targhee opens Friday, eh? Nice! Schweitzer might be able to open this weekend but I think they'll wait until T-giving. I'll definitely be ready by then! Good luck with your surgery!
edit: and on getting old, it doesn't get any better by the time you get to 50. It sucks just that much more.
