Me too. They should not feel any different when skiing but not having the AFD could definitly change how easily the binding will release in certain situation. For example it might cause the release torque to be increased in twisting situations and the binding to not release when they are supposed to. Can you say knee injury waiting to happen boys and girls.

I am really happy with my P12's, especially after I made a DIN adjustment. Just another reason to bash Boulder Ski deals, for setting my DIN at 7 for a 5'10" 180# type 3 skier.....dicks.

I also have a pair of solly S850's which have been good to me.

I had an AFD slider thing break on my Fritschi Diamir IIs and BD warrantied them immediately. Didn't seem like a good idea to ski on them that way.

According to most charts DIN of 7is proably right depending on your boot sole length. Do the calculation yourself, see below.

Yeah but since a lot of the discussion in this thread is about green springs the chart doesn't sort of apply .... Unless we are all huge, have tiny sole lengths and are super aggro !

Sure. But that's also the reason why the shop can't be blamed; and the reason why most +14DIN binders are not to be found on shop walls. The shop did it right imo. If you need a bigger setting (like lots of people around here do) you should know enough about how to set that yourself. If you need the shop to make thedecision for you then you're probably right in going with what the chart says.

    Look & Salomon

I love the Look Pivot 1/2 that I have. New for me this year. Heel and front release system works. I have "tested" them on a crash into an icy sidewall. Nice painless release. Did not feel a thing in the legs. Just my right shoulder and arm felt lousey.

My other skis have Salomon 900's. Very happy with them too. No problem with releasing. About 3 seasons old.

But, I found the Look release put less stress on my legs.

    I call bullshit on that.
No way Danes can grow so huge without chemical help*.
And don't tell me it's the beer. I tried.
I grew huge but on the wrong direction...

Statistically Danes are the bigger people on Earth.
But they only have one proskier.
When will he head back to S-C. via Engelberg?
