I lost my mom when I was 21 to cancer. Seems to be a common thread around here.

Very sorry to hear about your loss, my condolences. Her memory will always be one of the best things stored away in your head.

I really never understood "Mother" till being a Dad. Glad she's in a better place.

Sorry to hear that man, it'd pain me greatly to lose my mom, and I don't even like her much. May you carry in yourself all the love you felt for her, and all the love she felt for you. Amen.

had a close call with my mom and breast cancer. i was a retard teenager through the ordeal, but now i realize how lucky we were to have her kick its butt. all i can give you is the strength i should've given my mom when she took cancer on pretty much without my help. i'm a jerk for that, but in my "maturity" i hope you get through this.

parents kicked butt. they're why we are here. in case you didn't know. RIP.

L7 I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The times I have lost people with whom I shared love with I have tried to keep in mind the good times shared and the lessons in life they they taught me. Take the moments of truth they revealed to you and give them to another. Then they will live on forever in the good and the wisdom that you have spread to others. Take care .

I lost my mom in May to lung cancer. Grieving takes a while and marches to it's own beat. Don't rush it.

I am very sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. Rest In Peace.

**I don't know if this is out of line by writing what I am about to, so whoever reads this and thinks it might be, please let me know and I will readily delete it. I only write it because it is something that made me smile today and I don't want to ever forget the good times I've had with my mother when it's her time to go. I only hope it will make you L7, and the other mags who have lost your mothers remember the good times and smile also.**

Today is my Mom's Birthday. We have been bantering back and forth via email and to one of her comments I replied "Negative Ghostrider". To which she replied, "What the heck is that?!"

    My response...

It’s a commonly quoted line from a movie that basically means “nope”.

“Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full”…..the response from the control tower operator from ‘Top Gun’ when Maverick (played by Tom ‘the weirdo’ Cruise) is requesting a flyby...

    Used in a conversation…

Girl: “Honey, would you like to go see the new movie out about puppies and babies?”
    Guy: “Negative Ghostrider.”

    My Mom's response...

    "very funny, ha ha

guy: Mom, can I borrow some money?
girl: negative ghostrider, but if you come with me to see the movie about puppies and babies maybe I'll reconsider.

    Is that right?"
