I have a pair. I've only skied them a handful of times this season, but so far I'm really impressed. They've changed the core this year to carbon fibre, so they're really light. However, the flex and general feel is very similar to last year's 75s.

Soft Snow: My first day out on them was really warm, almost spring skiing conditions. I was amazed at how well you could lay 'em over and pull some Gs. It's surprisingly quick and skied short for it's length (185). I also drug them through a couple of short mogul sections where they performed well. The tails have enough flex that they won't punish you.

Powder: I was in Utah during the storm in January, and was without skis for a day while my bindings were being switched from my fat skis to my new fatter skis. So, I took out the Big Stix to see how they performed. We hit the Honeycomb side at Solitude with plenty of fresh to be had. I was amazed at how well these things kept their head above water. They're not fat by any means, but the extra girth was appreciated. You have to work a bit harder to get them up to speed and I found myself moving my weight back a bit to keep them on top of the snow, but if you keep your momentum, they'll float surprisingly well.

Ice: (and I'm talkin' ICE). Spent a day a snowshoe on one of the iciest days i've experienced. Regardless, I was able to hold an edge no problem. Clearly a stiffer, narrower ski would have been a bit more grippy, but I didn't feel like I was at much of a disadvantage. For a relatively wide ski, it handled well, and by the end of the day I was laying them over like I was on softer snow. Despite the ridiculously hard conditions, I never felt any noticeable chatter or squirrliness.

I wouldn't call this a stiff ski, but I also wouldn't call it soft. It has a nice, even flex that seems adaptable to most conditions. For me it's the perfect ski for all but the deep powder days, and even then, they work with some effort.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

What bag said, I don't own em' but tried them out a couple of times, good edge hold, suprisingly lightweight. Not stiff but torsionally rigid, good everything ski.

great stuff bag, i really appreciate that review. with t-p having such a killer sale on them, and spring chuting season not too far away, i thought that this would be a great AT ski. that's exactly what i need too, some float, but probably more importantly, ability to deal with ice, crud, and everything inbetween as well.

if ya don't mind me asking, what's your height/weight? i'm 5'10", 165lbs and would probably go for the 175 to save weight and keep the swing-weight easy for steeps, but maybe the 185 wouldn't be so bad if they were pretty managable....

    Ulty

    I'm 6' and about 160 lbs.

I got the 185 because I figured they'd be better if I ever did get into any powder. Don't know if this helps, but I demo'd the Big Stix 75 in a 175 last season and really liked it. Conditions were packed powder w/ some cruddy/icey spots. They performed really well...really stable for such a short ski. They're the reason I didn't hesitate to get the 7.6 this season when I saw a good deal on 'em.

good deal, bag. as i'm in the uk now, the eur isn't that bad when you're making gbp (and the dollar looks downright cheapo).

    Ulty,
That ski has scored really well in many ski tests (which isn't conclusive evidence of greatness I know), don't understand why TP are selling them so cheap.
