    1200 Turkeys Savagely Beaten...

Lead story on the news tonight. Apparently somebody/somebodies went into a turkey farm in Utah and beat 1198 turkeys to death with sticks.

The second story was about an Aunt who accidently dragged her niece for three miles when the girls coat became slammed in the car door.

What the fucking hell is going on? Sometimes I really hate people.

It's reprehensible, but that's got to be some kind of record.

Generally, there's little to be gained from local news- nothing but the worst of the "if it bleeds, it leads" approach. And if it's not that kind of bullshit, it's lameass public interest stories. Watching the news down the Cape one summer, we were treated to the lead-in "Coming up: Abandoned puppies fight for life, and the mayor of Providence gets a new car."

Couldn't change the channel fast enough.

Nice, more fuel for my super-sized misanthropy that grows even larger at breakneck speed with each passing day.

If there is ever a way to change species I'm going to be the first to sign up for sure.

Don't judge until you know the whole story - maybe the turkeys had it coming.

    Sprite,
Try not to let the bad news folks get to you. There is FAR more good than bad out there, but only the bad makes the news.

TomK, I admire you for trying to improve my outlook.

I was sort of being facetious but not completely. I would like not to end up a thoroughly jaded misanthrope but it's an uphill battle sometimes, you know? After my morning coffee I'm usually a *little* better.

So, did the police assume that it was fowl play?
Yep, seen this before. Crazy liquor & cheeseburger party got out of control.
