any hardboot snowboard mags out there ?

I know most mags are hardcore 2 plankers and I've got much respect for you guys.Sinecure is the only mag I know that rips on an alpine setup (skiis fast and races motorcycles to boot)
Are there any other mags that crave the carve on skinny stiff snowboards ?
This pic isn't me but I WAS at this epic session at Sugarloaf in 2004.
Go ahead, JONG me, whatever. I can still tear around on skiis but really love ripping on fresh cord when the trails are empty, riding a 197 raceboard.

That is how I learned to board, hardboots, plates, long stiff square tail Burton. If I was back east again and boarding there, I would be on this setup.

It was nice to hold an edge at Wisp, J Frost, Montage, Cameltoe and Blue Mtn.

Took up hardbooting 3 years ago. Got a nice Donek ride, but need to get proper boots (old Raichle ski race boots suck for that, but they were free). Basically ride on the non-powder days.

    Madd Carving

mrclean, check out bomberonline.com classifieds for boots.
The main reason I got into hardboots IS the east coast ice conditions. After being spoiled with a few seasons out west in Vail and Tahoe it's hard to not be a little jaded back east.I'm getting back on skiis this year since the whole sidecut thing looks really appealling.Got some Salomon 180s twintips. Also getting a Madd 170 for this season, 18cm wide and great for icey hardpack. Any east coast carvers out there, shoot me a PM. I'm sure I'll meet some mags this year at ASC mountains. The TGR forum rocks, I'm on BOL all the time waiting for winter to kick in. I'll be holding change for a nickel, just in case.

Here's a pic of me and my favorite hardbooting magette. Note the beautiful Memorial Day Corduroy at Squaw. Yummy.

I'm a devoted two-planker myself but have a handful of competitive alpine snowboarders as friends and acquaintances. Just chiming in to say if you've never seen a female hardbooting Olympic athlete, you've never seen a woman with thighs. Surprised it's not officially called "hardbootying."

nice site to look at, i bet..
Our world is full of surrender at the first sign of adversity, do not give up when the challenge meets you, meet the challenge. Through perseverance comes the rewards, the rewards that make life so enjoyable.

Seize the day, trusting little in the future.

I am a 80% of time soft boot single planker and 20% of the time a tele skier.

Nothing better for playing in the inbounds trees on the east coast. I tried the hard boots for one run that scard the heck out of me. Hard boot boarders are the real nuts if you ask me. but I ride with them anytime.

Strange thing is I almost never ride with snowboarders. mostly skiers.

I've been in hardboots and plate bindings for about 7 years and for me, it's a definite superior setup. I don't ride a really skinny board, I ride regular boards and it still rips better than any strap setup. I certainly don't just stick to the groomed runs either, it's a great all mountain setup especially on hardpack or windbuff. The edge control is just unbeatable...and that's important.

Hey Flaskman, where are you located? If you get out to Tahoe we should ride together.

Oh, and not all hardbooting women have giant thighs. Here's a pic of a pair of US Olympians kickin back in the Hot Tub / Pool at Termas de Chillan in Chile a couple summers ago. These two are amazingly fast.

And just for fun, and in the TGR spirit, here's a picture of Anton Pogue in a Race to the Cup two seasons ago. Note that he's sporting his ancient Raichle Flexon Comps. Another insanely fast snowboarder. Last time I saw him he'd just torn something in his lower leg. It was completely immobilized and he had it wrapped up to keep warm while he snowboarded down Northstar looking after a kid he was coaching. Hardcore!

That isn't snowboarding, it's monoskiing. You're facing forward.

Get some vans boots with the boa system and a pair of good ride bindings and there is no need to monoski, edge control is never a problem, but then again I never go east.

The thing that bothers me is the way you guys take those huge arcing uphill turns that cut everybody off. That chit sucks.

    Die alpine snowboarding die.

    don't be hatin'

sucks for us, too. always waiting for enough room to rip some turns. forget that shit on the weekends.
Monoskiin' is totalling different with your feet next to each other but still looks kinda fun, I guess.
If I still lived out west I'd be rockin' the setup you spoke of(Boa system, not Vans tho)but the snow here in the east is frozen and wicked haaaaad(hard).

what's the deal with your homepage danimal ? do you work in film ?

This year I'm back on skiis for weekend sessions, maybe switch it up to the plates on my twintip in the same hardboots aka ski boots. It's all good~

Stop hatin', start participatin'. Come on, twinkle twinkle, baby, twinkle twinkle. Wanna take a shot at me kid? Do it.

    Be cool, baby, be cool
