Jak/Jak BC performance on "firm" steeps?

I've read pretty much all I can find on the Jak/Jak BC. Looking to use it as an AT setup. Overall, sounds like a great ski.

One main concern. I want to have to go with only one ski for my BC setup. Sounds like it should be money for most things I will encounter...however, will the Jak/Jak BC suffice in the spring conditions when I go for the steep lines that are firmer/frozen/corn here in CO? Or will I wish I had something with better edge control and less width?

Other concern I hear is weight when it comes to earning the turns. I haven't taken the time to look at a ton of other ski weights, so is the weight really significant?

    Any better ski suggestions?

I tried out a 182 mothership for a few runs. It is the same as the JAK. They are forgiving, easy to turn, light, center mounted, and the tail is soft which made them not the best steep ice ski, but still ok in that respect.
