Colder temps arrive tonight and last for around a week (maybe longer).

Precip tapers off into Thursday, then the next storm hits (this one is supposed to be colder with not as much precip, but still lots).

Don't think there's a web cam for snoqualmie falls but here is one from Sunday before most of the rain hit. It's probably impossible to see the falls at the moment just cloud, spray and deafening noise.

www.komo4.com or www.nwcn.com have lots of pictures of flooding.

The passes themselves aren't that high. Stevens tops out at about 4,000 feet (which is roughly the base elevation of the ski area), Snoqualmie Pass is 3,000 (roughly the base of Alpental).

damn that is a crazy amount of water going over Deception Falls. lots of local flooding going on up here in Skykomish. lots of landslides also. the highway was also closed for a while bacause of high water and some slides covering the highway. definately the highest water levels since ive lived up here(6yrs). the water was so close to coming over the levee last night. good thing they just finished up work on it

    Damn...yous on to me....

Election officials in Oregon's Clatsop County made arrangements to have a dump truck pick up ballots Tuesday night in case of high water on roads

    For comparison ...

    Flood time -

    March 2003 -

And on another note, what do you do for fun during flood time?

Me: I was up till 4 AM this morning moving a herd of Alpaca, 2 or 3 at a time, across navel deep slow moving water for 1/3 of a mile in the Snoqualmie Valley. I know, this account in completely useless without pics, but it was an adventure worth mention. I think the highlight is when one of the smaller ones, ~ 175 lbs., lost its footing in the water, and did barrel rolls trying to keep its head above water. I tried to lift the poor guy back to his feet, which was successful, but not before he kicked me in the baby maker while flailing. ummppff Oh but wait, then I loaded a youngster into an aluminum boat and got nailed one more time in the jewel-pot.

Note to self: Alpaca + flood water = cup-wearing activity
If it doesn't feel good the first time, double the speed and try again.

You know the Baker hwy is fucked, when Baker is sending all of its avaliable resources and its generall mountian down the hill to try to save the highway and keep one of the main bridges from dissapearing.

The Skykomish was at 55,000 cfs today. I'd need a bakerboy correction on this one, but I believe a big flow down the Index section is about 10,000-12,000.
The Snoqualmie was at a new record level of 45,000 cfs today. Glad Buster got out of Carnation as it was completely closed off today.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Twitch crew set out to film some of this crazy shit!

Duvall is completely cut off. All the ballots are locked in the evidence room in the police station until they can get them out.

Wow. Yep, that might be a tough line in a playboat. Helluva strainer. Gotta give whoever props on the durable construction of that bridge, though!
