Goatama 183

I read through the ski list and still have a couple of questions about the 183 goatama...Im thinking about dropping some considerable coin and want to make sure it is the right ski...
Im 5'9" 160 lbs aggressive but not professional skier. Currently I have 176 head mad trix mojos (90mm). Ride mainly whistler and little Hood. I want to get a pair of skis for better float in the Powder. Thinking the Goatama is the ski for me and everyone says it skis "short" so should I go 183, or 176. Does the mojo ski "short" because it seems alright for me. And, is there another alternative. Bascially, I want to buy a ski I love and I don't want the skis to overlap too much.

Wouldn't go shorter than 183. You'll regret it. As long as you've got reasonably good technique you'll find the 183 got's a bit of a puppy dog. Damn fun.

Gotama over Mojo any day. I have the 183 and it is a blast.

I'm 5'7" 160 and I ski the 183 Gotama. I wouldn't go any shorter than that.
The Gotama's in a 183 are actually shorter than an old pair of Launchers that I have in a 181.

Use them on non-powder days.

don't ever be intimidated by going with a longer ski. 183s all the way! I made the mistake of going shorter a couple times and always regretted it. This year I'm going 191, and I'm 5 10

Agree with everyone else. I'm 5'8", 165 and have the 186 Mojo 90s from last year (which I love for everything but deep powder) and just picked up a pair of 05/06 183 Gotamas. I rented the Gots several times last year and absolutely loved them. Comparing the lengths of the two skis when they're standing flat against the wall, the 186 mojos are more than 3cm longer than the Gots...
