Breeds comfort, no contempt today
Walking in my own bootpack
My partner's face
Skis that groove
Feeling the snow, with my eyes
And yet, every day, life has its little surprises

spats + race course = $$$$$$$
Bump for the Monday crowd.
We hiked from the long switchback on Loveland Pass up the ridge to Sniktau's dead sheep gully. I was hoping for some windloaded pow, but it was mostly just wind slab, which the spats handled even when it was breakthrough. Watching LoneStar deal with it on his Lines was good entertainment.
We were planning to just charge down through the Loveland Valley ski area, but got sidelined by the lift ops. This time of year the mountain is set aside for racing teams, the local kids and world cup from countries all over the place. They rent out the gates in two hour blocks to different teams and harden up the snow so it'll run really fast.
So we ended up sideslipping down the fence most of the run, watching the Europeans blasting down the mountain.
Fun day overall with a great pal and ex roomie.
