Speaking from experience, I would say getting lodging commitments from peeps 4+ months ahead of time will be pretty much impossible.

there's national forest land all around, how 'bout we set up a bunch of wall tents and do it a little cheaper? the $$$$ is better spent on other things, like beer, hookers, and blow.

So let me get this straight... The summit is gonna be SW Colo first and then move to finish off in Aspen?

Cuz after all the talk and work at booking and commitments for the cool lodging digs that reidhreskho did (in this thread Silverton Summit 3/29/2007 ++ ) for what I thought was POST-Silverton (Thurs.3/29) day, Now we're dumping that plan and going with something else???
-and would someone please post what that actually is?
-and when / where did this change happen?

    ...

Bottom line: PLEASE POST HERE IF YOU NEED A PLACE TO STAY IN ASPEN MARCH 30TH-MORNING OF APRIL 2.
Also, out of those of you who do need a place to stay, I would like to know how many are willing to double up for those three nights. So as to have some idea of how many rooms we need, versus how many people will be attending.

Sorry for posting this in Ski/Snowboard, but the guy from the chamber of commerce said we are running out of time to book, so getting more hits more quickly is tantamount.

I'll post whenever I find out exactly what the rate is. If you guys express a significant collective interest, I may be able to negotiate the price down. As far as I know, the group buy people are checking here periodically to see if there's any Summit booking activity. So look lively.

Hope to see you bastids there!

I thought the plan was to ski Silverton on the 29th, than head up to Aspen for the final weekend.

Shit. I had forgotten about this. Aspen Meadows couldn't accommodate us for the first part of the week. This seemed like the only reasonable price option IN TOWN, which is what the maggots requested. I'll talk to the chamber of commerce guy, and hopefully I can get something for $75/person/night.

This was kinda a shot in the dark. What summit planning thread titles should I search for? Yoss, you got any time, man?

    Agreed.

I know some of us are, "real people" who spend money on hotels and stuff, but I know if I am at any summit functions I will be staying at the 4 star Chateau Tacoma.....

this is all really confusing. phish, when it gets closer to the time, let's talk about finding a place to throw up some tents-- I bet there's places close enough to town to hang out in town and still make it back to crash in the woods. always nice to sit around a fire with maggots..

    Lonestar and beaterman:

I'd be down. I was never planning on staying in a hotel. I was planning on sleeping in my car all week and trying to twist someone's arm into giving me a place to shower occasionally.

Bump. Gonna call the guy from the Chamber today and tell him we NEED rooms for the first weekend. If he can give me some good numbers and a decent location, you all will be the first to hear about it.
