    Replacement Power Straps

Anyone know of a place where I can order a pair of heavy duty replacement powerstraps for my AT boots? I picked up a pair of $10 Hotronics ones from Ski and Golf just to get me by, but I really want something bomber for a more permanant solution. Thanks in advance.

You can have any of my take-off stock power straps for free.

Or you could do the smart thing, and buy Booster straps. (Hint: this is why I have take-off stock straps.)

Disclaimer: I am a huge gear dork. With that stated, the problem with Booster straps on AT boots is that they are kind of difficult to tighten without kneeling (at least for me). I like the elastic effect, but velcro is easier to use while touring. Nordica and Lange both have boots with elastic velcro powerstraps, the best of both worlds. I had a shop special order them for me 2 years ago for about $20. I need a new set now, but I like this type of strap the best for AT boots.

Cause I'm a big pansy I guess. I just find it awkward to deal with boosters while touring. Its hard to loosen the plastic clip with big gloves on, if you kneel too far in Dynafits you end up pushing down the toe piece and coming out of the tour "lock" position. Anyways, I just find the straps I mentioned more covenient and I think they work just as well. To the original poster, you can often get big normal velcro straps at shops cheap when people replace them with Boosters.

So I think I'm going to order some booster straps for my Icons and remove the existing strap (it's beefy) from them and reatach it to my AT boots. Seems like the best of both worlds.

one other good option is the straps Nordica puts on their boots now, as they're velcro, but have some stretch in them to be pseudo-boosters

They're not nearly as strong or durable as the real thing, though.
