Just wondering how everyone feels about the boats coming out this year.
Any particular thoughts on any of them? In your opinion do they seem to bring in new concepts or has boat design stalled?

I had the opportunity to paddle the new WS Habitat 80 about a month ago and I really liked it. The model I got to paddle was the prototype, so the deck wasn't as stiff as the production model (or so I'm told), but aside from that it was a killer boat. Very responsive, stable, tracks really well and is fairly fast. I didn't really push it too hard since I dislocated my shoulder 6 weeks prior, but it seemed like a killer boat (atleast one to rival the Jefe)
Did the Habitat paddle similar to the Jefe? I really did not like the jefe but have been told the habitat is sick if they paddle similarly though I don't think I'd like it. What kind of water did you paddle it on?
Out here, there has been a lot of buzz over the Burn. I haven't gotten in one yet, but all the local Pyrannha guys have been raving about them.
Montani Semper Liberi
It's been quite a while since I paddled a Jefe, and I only paddled it for a couple of hours at that, so I can't really compare. I was paddling flood stage big water (7700 cfs on a river that usually peaks at around 4k in the spring). My buddy who owns a Jefe paddled it the same day and said that he felt it tracked better, felt a little faster, but that he couldn't get the same ammount of lateral movement from a draw stroke as he could with his Jefe.
I paddled one several times this summer. Paddled the M/L (i'm 6'1 190#) on the green truss and lil white salmon in Hood River and thought it was amazing. favorite boat in awhile. Tracks really well but you can correct really easily. I liked the edges a lot. gives you something to accelerate on and can carve into eddies and set a line. boofs super easily too as well as being comfortable and at my size i should probably paddle the bigger one.
Demo'd the final prototype Dagger Agent 6.2 at USNWC with Hoeve and Cory Volt
Thanks a lot to those guys for getting it out there and being so helpful.
I am fairly new to paddling and have only been paddling a Mamba and an RX so I can't tell you a lot from my one lap with it excecpt that it was a lot DIFFERENT and I liked the new outfitting but my buddy Jon said this about it
"Just got off the water at the center. I got to paddle one of the prototype agents and it was awesome. It has a very fast hull and incredibly responive edges. Definately start saving money for this one...
If your talking about the agent it was awesome. It was very stable everywhere"
Here are some pics of it

Thanks again to Hoeve as I have been troubling him about this for a week and thanks to Cory for being so helpful and giving me pointers while paddling the lap even though he must of been thinking wtf is this guy doing in this boat![]()
It was awsome to watch Cory rip it up in his version of the Agent too. I sat in the eddy of M wave for front row seating.
The boat will be out there Saturday (today) at the grand opening if anyone wants to try it and I think some of the guys might be out there Sunday too.
On snow days for 05/06: 43
I paddled a Burn down a lot of stuff, from IV to V and thought it was a superb river runner, and not a creeker to suit my taste, too slow on the resurfacing, doesn't like to accelerate away from drops when submerged, and still to edgy for my taste. Part of this could be because I was in a small and am 145lbs, medium might creek better. I think the new Rockers will be hot, wasn't into the old ones but digging the new design I saw on the Mega.
