oakley gogs--wisdom vs a-frame vs crowbar

just got a job at the oakley outlet n thought i'd get some new ones. Had wisdoms the last few years, never liked them as much as my OLD o-frames that never fogged. Got the wisdoms as a gift and they feel a little too clunky on the face plus mad fogging problems in certain conditions.

Anyone else feel this way, plus I'd like feedbakc on all of these. thanks

Uhm... as an employee of the store (or even as a customer), wouldn't you be able to try them on and see which ones work for you...? I know it sounds crazy, but it might work.

I just got a pair of a frames from sac. They refract lateral light and cause interference on the apex of the bent lens. I don't get it.

I haven't used them on snow yet but wearing them outside in the sun right now leaves me pretty unimpressed. Especially considering how popular these things are.

Ive used the wisdoms for the last few seasons and although I have no major gripe, Im going to give the crowbars a shot. wisdoms typically fogged on PNWet, warm pow days. Im not sure any goggle can remedy that condition, but I'll keep looking.

I like the feel of Aframes Crowbars and Oframes, i've got Oframes and Crowbars, love emm both and havent had any foging probs as of yet. Wisdoms imo look and therefore feel too chuncky.

plus unless I used some kind of weather machine to create a foggy wet snowstorm inside the store, then put on a tracksuit and jogged in place for about 3 hours, I would not get the simulation necessary to match the opinions of people who have actually SKIIED whilst wearing them.

I love A-Frames! I bought a pair of wisdoms and they were not comfortable, fogged, and did not work with my helmet. I returned them, and got a new pair of A-Frames. Wisdoms suck ass they are really hard and stiff.

Heh, my bad I thought the issue was the fit

So far the only goggles that work for my face when comboed with a G10 are A frames... to me fogging is not much of an issue if I can't breathe when wearing them.

Fwiw my earlier post wasn't intented as an asshole remark.

Crowbars are great particularly with helmets, due to the design of how the strap attaches to the 'wings'. The goggle rests nicely on your face with evenly distributed pressure. I have both the snow and the moto version that I use for dh biking, and both have been great.

I just purchased the A-frames with high intensity lenses a couple days ago on SAC. I hope they are sweet and work better than my $20 Scott's in flat light.

Once you ski with those lenses in flat light, you'll wonder how you ever did it without them.

can anyone compaire persimon ro HI persimon. oakley lists HI P as letting stightly less light through, but I thought the purpose of HI was to increase contrast or something. Which would be better for NorthEast/Montana skiing? price not a problem.

probly gonna go with crowbars, but any ideas on lens selection? They're gonna train me next week so i assume i'll hafta memorize all this crap anyway, but it IS in chicago. Meaning that when applied to skiing/snowboarding nobody knows dick.

That said, I've got a purple? lens in my wisdoms now i'm relatively happy with. heard the hi-yellow was good too. Just looking for all around light conditions, something in the middle of the spectrum.

i can't comment on the a-frames, but i love my crowbars. i think they look kind dumb (too wide) if you're looking AT them....but since i'm looking out from the inside it's cool.

i happily use the hi-yellow for storm days and a darker lens for the bright stuff. hi-yellow would be way too bright for sunny days.

where do you ski? that could influence the decision.

a-frames with black iridium. i love them. i have way too many pairs of goggles, and these are by far my favorite.

I've have my same pair of A frames for 6 years now... and they still fit great and have almost no signs of wear (minus a few inevitable scratches.) I can count on one hand the number of times they've fogged up while on my face (I'm a dumbass and always put them on my forhead which = fog...inevitable fog). I can't complain about them in the least.

I've got A-frames and Crowbars. Both are great but I like the Crowbar's field of vision a little better. Wisdoms are too heavy and want to fall down my nose all the time. I've got an HI lens in the Crowbars and Fire Iridium in the A-Frames plus a couple of other lenses I can swap out if I want. If I only had one pair of goggles available, I'd probably go with the A-Frames due to the interchangability of the lenses being easier.

tough call. while i love my hi-yellow lenses, i also have a VR28 for non-storm days. i would not want to use the hi-yellow as an "everyday" lens.

i think you should shell out the extra $$ for a 2nd lens, if you can swing it. otherwise, avoid the hi-yellow and get something between the two mentioned above -- maybe "persimmon".
