Question for Canon Powershot Owners NSR

Have you ever had your camera return an E18 error? Mine wont turn on at all anymore, just flashes the logo screen and displays E18 in the corner. It worked fine for half the day today and then just stopped working all together. Manual says nothing-looks like I'm sending it in on warranty unless someone has a fix. If anyone has a way to get my pics off it, I think I have some decent shots from today I that I will post. Thanks.

It's probably an internal thing that you can't see, like the lens drive motor or something... just because it "looks" fine doesn't mean it is. You can get your pictures off by using a card reader... the pictures are on your card, not your camera, so it's not like you'll loose any data.

There's usually not much you can do for them if they won't turn on... and since opening up the camera body

    A) voids your warranty and
    B) probably won't help you since these things are so jam-packed and complex

I'd suggest calling support and finding out what the deal is with sending it in for work
