Cool TR: 10.30.06 Getting high in K-country.

Well we coulda gottin higher, but we wussed out.
Saturday night it snowed a good 30-60 cm of dry fluffy powder throughout the canadian rockies. So we headed out this monday to find some turns in Kananaskis.

The front range was pretty caked. mmmm

We made our way to the cirque, and found it was still pretty bony, but we found
    some nice stashes.

    Our line

We managed to find some pow

The scenery was alright I guess.

It feels damm good for winter to be around again, heres to ULLR, bring some more!

    Young ski bums represent!

Nice looking turns. That's actually Ptarmigan Cirque, no?

Did you guys drive up to Fortress? I'm wondering how much they really got.

    mid-season blower!?? pics?
PSA: I am still learning alot about avy-science, but I think ill throw this out there for what its worth. There was a hard compacted wind layer underneath this new snow where we were skiing, plus there were lots of faceting around the rocks. It could get dicey this weekend if the new snow forms a more cohesive slab/ or gets hot. But I think its pretty dependent on locale/elevation.

If you are looking for company this weekend. I'd probably be in. I could use the exercise and getting out of town. But I am going to the Warren Miller show Saturday night, so you couldn't keep me out late
