    Bummer, Dex.

I foresee a quick recovery with a series of skierX wins next season. Good luck mang.

Dex sorry to hear about the knee. If it is your ACL, at least you will be good to go by next season, and you never know maybe it is not as bad as you fear. Swelling like you descirbe can sometimes be a meniscal tear. Ice, elevate and keep your spirits up. good luck

Quel fromage, ya freak. What are you doing racing Skiercross anyway? Add two parts dynamite, 3 parts match and you get a surprise? Sheesh.

But really, my condolences. There's nothing worse for freaks of our degree than to whack the acl. If that's really the case, at least there's a bunch of time for rehab. After the surgery, load up on Jonathan Waters films for as long as the meds last.

Funny, I swear I read that the Sumerians are to blame in most Skier X incidents.

Personally, I blame the Bush administration, esp. that Ashcroft bastard.

So my ortho agrees with me, I'm waiting to get an MRI now and will hopefully have a pre-op physical threrapy appointment tomorrow. He told me to start working on range of motion, keep icing, and not to bother with the compression anymore (which surprised me a bit, but I guess it's useless at this point).
Oh yeah, if anyone knows a good PT place on the Upper East Side I'd like to know, I used to be way downtown, so...

Thanks all you guys for your wishes, suggestions, and assorted inanity. At least I'll still be on the board--that's something, right? Right?

This was two years ago today.
Skied on it today, including park jumps and ridiculously poor coverage in the trees--no problems (just as it's been for the past 18 months), all you other ACL impaired types should take solace.

    Nice!

I'm right there with ya. Knee reconstructed about a year and a half ago now is feeling excellent (and the one reconstructed years earlier is feeling fine too). Today I took one of the hardest wrecks of my life when a ski popped off while maching on a steep groomer (damn Atomic bindings on my "race" skis for today's event...) My neck and back feel like shit, and I have a few random bruises from tomahawking down a freaking groomer, but my knees feel just fine. Which is really the important part, the way I see it. It's so reassuring when they hold up to violent wrecks after surgery.

I'm with Snorkel, totally freaked me out and thought you did it again. I'm staying away from anything except credit card air until next season. Still getting muscle mass back in my quad from my ACL surgery, but loving the bumps and trees again.
