    Seth vs Got Binding Delemma

Just need some advice... So I currently have the 05/06 Got in a 183 (little disappointed I didn't get the 190 in retro spect... they ski a little short). I've demoed the 06/07 Seth in both the 179 and 189 and loved both. I'm looking to split my quiver between the Gots and the Seth, one of which I will use for touring.

So here's the question. Do I mount the Gots with ATs and use them for touring and then get the Seth in a 179 (to use for everyday), or do I get the 189 Seth and mount them with ATs and use either for all mountain?

The other binding is a s916

    Just looking for some advice.
    Thanks

I'm 6'0 175... pretty aggressive and typically either skin to ski mountain passes/backcountry or ski trees/bowls/steeps at resorts... some groomers but not much

its not one of your options, but personally I would mount the 183 gots with ATs and get 189 seths to mount with the 916s.

I second wren, You already think the Got is too short, the Seth, with all the sidecut and softness turns like a way shorter ski. If you go for the 179's I'll take the 916s off your hands.

i third this option. i presonally use the 190 got (w/ freerides) and 179 SVs (w/ dynafits).

the 179 SVs are about the same running length as your 183 gots. the gots are a lighter ski, in general, though neither is "light".

since you feel the gots ski a bit short, i'd use them as a bit of a 'compromise' in the BC. you're going uphill & you're generally not bombing downhill quite as fast as when inbounds.

get either a 189 SV or another ski for inbounds, in my opinion. the seth is very easy to ski; the only reason i use(d) the 179 is for weight savings going up/having them on my back, and for very steep, tight terrain. you can still bomb downhill on them, but it's just not at absolute-max speed. they perform well in a variety of conditions.

i was thinking of selling mine given that i'm getting some lighter bros in the same length....but after taking them out a couple days ago i am planning to keep them, for whatever that is worth. they're a worthy, fun ski.

I was thinking about the 189 for a little while, but thought it would then temp me to mount them with the ATs... rendering my Gots somewhat useless/redundant

i have no idea though thats why i posted

I'd fourth the opinion of using the seths for inbounds. When I demoed the seths, I wasn't thrilled with their powder performance, but with all the sidecut and soft flex I though they were tons of fun on groomers and smoothed out chop.

I prefer a little shorter ski for touring, so the 189 pistol inbounds and the 183 gots for AT would be my choice, as well.

does anyone think the 189 is too long for semi-tight trees and some steeps?

this is assuming with a +2 to +5 mount that most people go with [assuming the scale is still off (so 0 to +3)]... im just curious

How about you trade me your Gots for my 05-06 179 Seths, and get yourself a pair of 190 Gots?

They aren't too long if you can ski 'em
