Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had gone out sledding to vail pass or any near by passes yet? I was thinking about heading out monday and tuesday, but i have not heard any news about grooming or snow fall in that area. If anyone has any updates let me know.

No grooming, thin cover. Trails are rideable, but prepare for early season conditions.

Did you go sleding up there? I dont want to go crazy or anything, I just want to get the sleds out and and take a few friends for a joy ride. Also, Vail pass did get hit with over 2 feet of snow since. Dont you think that would help out?

SO I decided to go ayways to check it out and it was awesome! It was thin in the lower areas, but after you get up near tarmagon peak it was a winter wonder land. We had amazing bottomless turns all day. We also saw one other person ski Tarmagon proper and set off a fairly deep, but not very wide avalanche. Once we left, the return back to Vail pass was even more thin, but the sleds handeled it very well. Another dump and it will cover the trails again. I would not recomend it after today, but it was well worth it.
