    Need a new camera

I love my old Canon Powershot S200, but it is going on 5 or 6 years old. I am looking for something about the same size. It would be nice if it had better zoom capabilities and I definitely want the ability to take rapid photos. My current camera has an aweful delay in between picture attempts. What do you guys recommend?

    Canon SD700IS

Modern version of the same thing, smaller, 4x zoom, 6MP, IS, 2FPS continuous shooting as long as you hold the button. The higher MP cameras don't shoot as fast.

If you want more zoom, the A710 IS goes to 6x, but is a lot bigger. 4x is the best you'll get in a compact.

are you looking for something to snap a few ski photos with?

i've been on the hunt for something with a fast manual shutter speed that doesn't have the huge pushthebutton-toactuallytakethepicture lag, and at least 5 MP.

Just bought this cam too....about $300 from new egg. Everyone on dpreview seems to have a boner for it. Sounds like a kick ass little camera.

Just picked up the 8mp Canon A630. I've been very impressed so far. Its the new big brother to the A610 and A620. Still has all the manual settings options. Thge one caveat is that the rapid fire shooting speed drops from roughly 2.5 fps in the A610 to 1.8 fps in the A630. Still pretty quick and the image quality has been top notch. Zip Zoom Fly had the camera for $255 and if you search, you can also find a $10 off coupon. Or at least you could a couple weeks ago.

One way cameras are going, a bit different, but interesting, easy to move photos:
