Thumbs up By far Coolest thing at the Mini ...

... wasn't the gathering of some of the coolest dudes in skiing from around the globe

wasn't DTM blowing up a tanker (note to all: Brad at sports den knows how to mount binders)

wasn't MD9 making it to the Worlds

wasn't all the work Buzz and AC put into making this thing happen

wasn't all the cool schwag TGR, PMGear, etc. donated

    wasn't the blue-b pow day

wasn't the sick day that tomorrow will surely be

wasn't the un-measurable hospitality of Frozen (very close second though)

wasn't the Giro Flint wearing Mega-Posse each day

    wasn't the gnarly crashes

wasn't the being able to put new names with new faces

    wasn't seeing old friends

wasn't all the laughter, good times, drinking, eating, etc - none of that

it was something so simple as the stoke on one proud papa's face and the joyous tear in his eye that I saw when he told me about his lil' 3 year old girl skiing for the first time this past week - and not just skiing but learning to turn, stop and ditch the "wedgie" all in one week's time.

There is nothing so great as passing on something you love to your kids and seeing them develop just as strong a love for it as you - if not more.

Tippster = 2004 Minion of the Mini!!!

I will third that although I was not at the mini, I have been taking my not quite 3 year old son skiing in the backyard the last several days, he made his first controlled descent today, and proceeded to amaze me with a snowplow, then left turn, and correct oh wait a right turn....my little grom learned to ski. It made me one proud papa. I know how you feel.

Iv been teaching my 9 year old sister to ski and its amazing how fast she is learning. She was skiing the double blues in Jackson with me no problem. Its so nice to see the the snow plow slowly dissapear and be replaced by nice smooth turns.

Fantastic! I spent yesterday building a jump in the backyard. My 5 & 7 year olds spent hours on it. I got my 7 year old to land the thing switch. He is so pleased with himself. Mrs. H-man tried to snap a pic but the delay on the digital may have played havoc with it. I will try and post it since I promised him I would. Maggot in training..... I hope so

Goddammit, Xover... you had me at "...GIVE HIM THE POLES!!"

I guess you're just trying to ensure I REMAIN your Bitch... note to self: learn to like Bock beer...

Thanks, Mang. I hope you get your sweetie out on the hill this year. Don't fret the Helmet, as you see in the pic they didn't have her wear one for the first two days...

I've made it 37 years with no kids of my own...that I know of. Since I've got back into skiing, seeing the little ones on the hills taking the first steps to learning to rip, having fun, and seeing how proud the parents of the kids are, has definately had an impact on me.

I've often watched from the lifts with a bit of regret knowing that I've spent alot of years choosing NOT to be part of that experience...that is changing fast for me these days.

Kudos to the parents here who are giving their children the experiences and opportunities to enjoy something so sacred and uplifting as skiing is to us!!!!

Getting soft in my middle age...sniff, sniff.
