    binding cert?>

I searched a bit for "binding certification"
Saw Z's "skitechdom" thread....but no one ever answered his question, unless waxing with bacon is for real........BUT

Are there classes out there (online would be cool) that certify you to mount binders to the public?

I want to start a little (leetle) ski shop up here and want that cert.

    Anyone...anyone...Ullr...Ullr

The certification you refer to is called "indemnification" in the industry. Imdenification is always through the manufacturer.

If you do a search for binding manuals on TGR, you'll find the manuals issued by the manufacturer. In each will be the test they use for indemnification. Most (if not all) of these tests can be taken online, provided your shop is indemnified.

There's no magic in the test; this should be very easy for most people. As for actually doing the work well, that's something that comes with practice. Easiest way IMO is to get a job as a tech at a shop, and learn on your (crappy paying) job.

I'm only done the tests, so I don't know how much it costs the shop or what they have to do.

If you come to Vancouver some time, I can run you through the install; I used to be indemnified on Salomon, Look, Rossignol, Tyrolia, Marker, and Atomic/ESS.

    nice

    thanks, will continue the search.

Amazing that in this little town I live in....no one will mount binders. I usually mount my own, I feel best about it...but it would be nice to be a repioneer around here.

Most (if not all) manufaturers will only indemnify an individual through a shop. I would contact the companies and explain to them what you want to do and how to go about it.
