Red face Another Dakine Pack Question...

Just when you thought it was safe to read tech talk, I am gonna JONG it up a notch.

I have a great line on the Guide pack and the Poacher. Is the only difference the size? How do these packs stack up? I have an Osprey of similar size, but it is lacking a lot of the Dakine features. I would use it mostly in the summer backpacking but also for some light backcountry skiing and spring/summer hiking to remote snow stashes.

    Go ahead, JONG away...

I think size and a few other minor features, check here for sure, Da Kine .

I have had the poacher for three years and really like it, only gripe is the snowboard set-up is uncessary, but I have used it for other things, so I haven't bothered to cut it off.
Skiing, where my mind is even if my body isn't.

I've had my Guide for a year. It just blew up. DaKrap ain't worth it unless it's free, me thinks....which mine was, and I'm still pissed.

    Thumbs up

Thanks for the info. The first place I checked was their website.

I sat both packs down and went over them closely. They seem to have all the same "important" features.

I am leaning towards the Poacher as the Guide seems a little over kill. I do not think I have enough stuff to fill 3000 CI.

Thanks again for the positive feedback!

See, this is what I was afraid of. I remember reading a lot of gripes of at the old place about Dakine. Nothing worse then having a pack blow up in the middle of no where.

While this would not be free, it would be a decent deal. I have had a Heli Pro for 3 years and it has never missed a beat.
