    A WV Classic - Upper Blackwater 10/21/06

The Upper Blackwater is a classic WV class V river that has long been on my list. I ended up hitting it at a low flow (~210 cfs) this past weekend; slightly less than ideal, but still very doable. There are no huge drops ,but it is constant maneuvering over 2-8-foot ledges and around big boulders with ugly sieves.
The put in is a few hundred yards downstream from Blackwater Falls, a popular WV attraction.

Ben in the first rapid right at the put in, 100 Yard Dash.

    Lots of fun slots.

B - love the shots of that run. Glad to hear that you can check that one off your list. Wish I was there to enjoy it with ya'll (even though it was a year and a half ago).
