I'd volunteer, but I don't want to be responsible for you having a shit day. If you're riding alone tomorrow, I'll be up there sucking all day; dark grey jacket, big red/pink pack, taaught black pants. Lets take a hike.

Yo, I'll be coming up just in time to make a last-call hike at 2:30, meetcha at the bootpack bottom if you're into it. White viking locks, XXL's.

Never seen before: Yesterday under the PK lift there was a guy skiing down Flippers with a pair of skis on his shoulders, followed by another guy walking down in his ski boots. I was wondering what was going on until the guy without skis shouted up to the lift "Have you seen a binding?"...

Saw that; thought it was either a breakdown or a Bridger Peak mission..hopefully the latter.

Really like the pics guys keep em comin. Seen some really cool helmet cam as of late from Pnut and from random You Tube sources, shout out to Rousehouse. Rip one for the Baker Girl, sad I still don't even know her name, been in my thoughts though. Vibes to igband, I guess he's down for a bit too. As for me it's just my knee so not too bad.

Pnut, you should get a baggy flourecscent hoodie with some rockered clown shoes and full tilts, we'll just tell the ski media that your a 21 year old up and comer. Just use that camo thing for an approach coat.

Even I'm not slow enough to use that coat for an approach jacket. It does look shitty in the photos tho...Where is that pic from anyway? I'm thinking the south facing area skiers left of slushman ravine? And now that I shaved the beard, I don't even look 21, i'll see if I get carded next time.

Also a question for you Go Pro users....I downloaded video pad video editor for free and was able to edit my footage. But when I post it to you tube it is total garbage. Any tips for rendering it to be viewable in you tube?

Or maybe do you know a cheapish/free editor that works with Go Pro and you tube with not much hassle....what are you guys using? Thanks doods!

Too lazy to embed, but I randomly got featured twice in the Bridger VOD today. Funny.

two to three feet of new + freshly formed hoarfrost + 45 degree terrain - inteligence =

Yesterday, two separate parties of skiers triggered avalanches near Frazier Lake in the northern Bridger Range. The first group of three skinned to the top of long and popular east facing chute (>45 degrees). The first skier triggered a slide that broke 18” deep about ½ way down the run, but managed to ski out of it. This slide broke on the weak interface between the new and old snow.

A second group decided to ski a nearby steep slope (also >45 degrees) slightly to the north. They were unaware of the previous avalanche. The first skier safely descended the run. The second skier had the slope break on his first turn. He tumbled over 1,000 feet through rocks and was almost fully buried. By wiggling his head and using his free arm he was able to dig himself out. His femur was broken, but luckily it was not an open fracture. His partner shouted to the other group who returned to the scene. A cell phone call to Gallatin County Search and Rescue got rescuers and a helicopter to the scene. He was evacuated with only minutes of daylight to spare

I just read that avalanche report.

Minus intelligence is definetly the nice way to put it. So that is 2 parties of idiots in the Frazier Bowl, I wonder what happens when a third party of idiots happens to hurt themselves somewhere different at the same time. Will there be enough helicopters to save them all?

And that my friend is the reason they won't open Slushies after bigger storms. One idiot like me gimps themself in B gully, another group gets hurt or slid on Saddle, coupled with maybe other inbounds/sidecountry ski patrol needs, and you have a worst case scenrio. I know one thing, there was a crew of 40 for the S+R party that rescued the injured yesterday. That has to be practiclally every S+R volunteer in Gallatin County. How thin can those rescorces be spread?

Vibes to the injured, I'm sure they will learn a lesson, and hopefully not from a permanent injury. I just thank god that I have never been in that situation myself or with any of my partners. I can't deny that a healthy dose of good fortune and good partners have spared me in my more idiotic moments in life. At a certain point luck and people with rescue gear is not much to have going for your though.

Oh, and get some helmet cam footy and photos of the goods fellas!

I am happy everyone is ok, but damn this shit is really basic, the avy report had red high and it doesn't go there that often. Tone makes a good point that these sort of shenanigans put others at risk. They were pretty lucky a heli was even able to evacuate. It really woulda sucked to be tobaganed outta there with a busted femur. It is never just you that you are putting in harms way cuz the rescuers, patrollers, and partners will end up putting themselves in danger to save you. Patience please, with a continental snowpack there are cycles to just sit out and this looks to be one of em. This is a massive load and the recent instability is prone, and if ever it was to step down, now would be that time. Props to patrol for letting us control the spots they didn't in slushmanworld. EPIC

Freakin silly up there today!!!!!! They are saying 5" new today but I'd say it was a tad more than that. Great turns everywhere never even thought to venture towards slushies it was soo good everywhere else and well the avy danger was HIGH today. That shit can wait. I was surprised they actually opened it at all.

Great day and I'm sure there will be many pics posted to prove it.
