This is from the latest surf report I got email this morning: Doesn't look particularly good for ya.
Paul has become a full fledged hurricane with winds sustained at 80 mph (stronger though last night). Paul is about 300 miles south of Cabo and has stirred up a good deal of fetch. This would be quite surf-worthy for SoCal if it not for Paul's easterly trajectory, pointing its power at Baja and Mexico. Still, some energy may hit SoCal waters on Thursday, although this would likely remain as weak, background, waist to chest high sets for standout south facing breaks.
The primary concern with Paul is that this storm will make landfall. It should weaken greatly before doing so, but a tropical storm warning remains in effect for Baja from Agua Blanca southward on the west coast and from La Paz southward. A tropical storm watch is in effect for the west coast of mainland Mexico from Mazatlan to Altata.
He who has the most fun wins!
