Tempting at $175 for anyone under 5'10 (174 is the longest available)
Thoughts on these? Softer/Stiffer than 1080s?

Stiffer than the 1080's. Would make a good all mtn ski as well as park ski. Not as nice a all mtn ride as the PE's, but for $175, it would pretty hard to go wrong.
yup, decent combo of park features withough noodle construction (there're some wood in the core as opposed to the salomon's). I've ridden my buddy's a few times and been really impressed, pretty light and responsive. $175 is hard to beat...
Trigger pulled under slight impulse last night, and now I wake up and they're still there.

Im considering it also. I didnt know they were 85 underfoot
don't know how much they've changed sine 02-03 (red with silhouetted boobies), but after a couple years they get rediculously noodley. I use them for park, so thats not a big issue. i recently mounted them center for switch capability which had two main effects; they are really shaky and hard to set an edge on groomed/normal snow...but the decreased length (tip-binder) and the noodleyness has created an epic EC pow tree ski. I can zip in and out of any little opening and they respond really quickly when there is fluffy stuf fon teh ground...i feel comfoprtable taking them into the sketchiest of ticght trees.
this does not really apply to you out in mammoth, but maybe it will help out rightcoast and others who bought it. thats all i got.

Might've considered them in a 180.
