Well, when I met with Dmy oncologist tuesday, I recieved what could be described as good, but not great, news. None of the existing lesions in my lungs have grown. They are the same size that they were when I had a CT scan in June. So they are either no longer growing, or growing at an extremely slow rate. He also suggested two possible theories behind the new tumors. One possibility is that they were always there, but due to their small size (2-3mm), it was possiblt that they were missed by the cuts in previous scans. Another theory he proposed is that what appears to be lesions may actually be antibodies attacking cancerous cells.
So this means that there is a possibility that the IL2 treatments I underwent this summer might be working after all. The fact that largest lesions have not grown at all since June is a very good sign. And if those spots in the scan are actually antibodies, well, than hot damn, that's great.
Next week I will begin taking a new regiment of medication, that will not require me to check into the hospital. Not that I didn't enjoy my many visitors, but I prefer my maggot meetings in Manhattan to occur in places that have cold beer on tap. Speaking of which, while I don't have to give up drinking competely, I will have to moderate. So expext tomorrow night at Hawaiian Tropic to be my last blast for awhile. Who's in charge of getting me on the train?
Anyway, I guess this is proof that all of the posivibes you have been sending me from across the globe are having some effect. I haven't won the fight yet, it looks like it might go the full fifteen rounds, but I'm ahead on the scorecard, and I'm not up against the ropes yet.
Now when's it gonna start snowing?????
