Sometime next year, if all goes well, Brett Holm of Chaska, Minn., will begin selling his Season Shot, an improvement over current shotgun shells because its pellets dissolve on contact in the game meat and, more important, automatically flavor it for cooking. Holm told the Chanhassen (Minn.) Villager newspaper in August that he will initially offer lemon pepper, mesquite, Mexican, and Creole flavors, but, he said, chemists are at work right now to expand the selection. Wow, I thought this had to be an Onion article so I did a little search. Couldn't find the article but the paper cited is real. I live two towns over from Chaska and hadn't heard about this. I suppose it would be kind of cool, but how would you keep the birds straight until you could clean them and get the packages labled.

either they're gonna be too light to be effective or they'll be too heavy to stay in the meat good, IMVHO this is a dumb plan. Usually there's only maybe 1 or two pellets that remain in a bird.

Plus, those that do stay in are usually encased in a wad of feathers...mmmm yum
