Drive slow, homie.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!
Chocolate? This is doodoo, BABY!
Dude, they'll look like shit after a single day...don't waste your time. (think your old deth pistols)
if you do, try a method that's at least more sophisticated than sharpies.
Seriously, though, let me know how this turns out. I have some like-new 977s that I want to paint as well. They don't have any scratches, but I don't know how well paint will stick to the gloss coat.
I painted some portions of some FF17's as they were pretty beat. Used that hammered finish stuff from Kilz on the silver portion of the heels, the toe lifter and the bridge. Still looks like new after 10 solid days. No input on the pieces that get hit most, like the heel cup or the toes but I'm curious about others input as well.

Dude, if you want to spraypaint flames on your car too, I'll support you.
If you really want to do it right, and have more time on your hands than the Gosey, do this.
Use sandpaper and sand the fuck out of them. Sand all existing paint off of them. Use primer and do it right. When that's set, apply several LIGHT coats of the paint, waiting for each layer to dry before applying the next. When that's all dryed, apply some hardener/protective layer of whatever shit you can find.......
However, I know you too well Z, and you're too fucking lazy to do all that...you'll just end up with some bindings to match your pistols.![]()

Just dip them in black epoxy. The retention capabilities will skyrocket.
Dude - those things are the hawt shit! Don't paint a classic!
If yer gonna do it, blurred pretty much has you covered. I would use an automotive primer, and just scuff the old paint - no need to strip them completely, just burn of the gloss (consider dipping them in a paint deglosser as well). Then paint them with an industrial/marine enamel - high gloss. Regrease, and enjoy.

vanity runs strong with this one
Id like to just chime in here and say not to even think about painting older plastic bindings. Much like helmets, Id be worried that the paint might attack the various plastics.
Assuming this is an older 977\997 etc, the last thing you want to do is shorten its lifespan even more.
yep. bad idea. gotcha.
Drive slow, homie.
