    Michigan Snow Stoke

    Michigan Snow Stoke.

Just recieved these pics from Caberfae from this winter storm that just pummeled michigan. You didn't hear it from me, but there's enough to hit it if you can get out there.

This snow will be gone in a few days, Caberfae does plan on being open for Turkey Day. We'll be there friday, sat & sunday after Turkey.

SHIT! I am gonna be a bout 30 minutes away from Caberfae this weekend...

I'm supposed to be hunting... but... but...

Indy - can Caberfae be poached? (all 350 feet of it! LOL!)

This is totally perverse but if this is this doable I may have to try just for the sheer giggles.

NoHills - Turkeyday is too far away - theres no way this snow will last... doesn't mean there won't be more and rumor has it that Nubs was / is running their guns... burn something for Ullr.

    Flat, PM replied to.

I do believe that the hill would be poachable. They may kick you out, they may not. DOOOOOOO IT. That hill is so grassy & sandy, you could probobly use race skis and not worry about the bases. Here are some more pics for you to take a peek at.

I've been watching the nubs cam off and on, haven't seen snowmaking going on, but that is not to say they may not.

Tyrol Basin in Mt. Horeb, WI turned on their guns last night....

Turned out my geography skills suck... 30 minutes was actually an hour and a half and I could not get over there.

On the bright side, I did whack a nice 6 point at 10am Saturday. Venison Tenderloin anyone?

we shall shred with ya turkeyday weekend indy (&anyone else who dares to conquer caberfae)- at least fri/sat...
I put a 5min skintrack up their now closed "tournament" skirun area last year- the ol' locals in the skiclub thought that was pretty *gnar* (spent more time messin with skins than skiin but I look forward to doin it again anyway)

on that note I'd like to poach hickory hills(boy that's an underwhelming writeup- maybe the longer pieces I've seen aren't "inbounds") ski area in traverse city when they get slammed with some of that lake effect- seems like there'd be at least a few more turns on some of the pitches I've seen up thar...

after thurs we had a snowman in the frontyard but today its all green grass- that could use to be mowed dangit

dude...i don't get ya. why is mn entitled? you saying it's more likely? bullllshiiite. all mn's got going for it is cold.

    [/midwest smack talk]

cold drenching rain today...washing all the snow away. If only it was about 15 degrees colder.....

have some friends who skied ripley on Thurs. Apparently there was enough to get some turns in. I chose not to participate as my rock skis don't have bindings on them (just cured by steepandcheap, hopefully).

SnowHot was out hiking for turns!

    Man that was a rush.
I used some old volkls just in case I hit some ugly stuff.
The snow was sticky, but what a blast to get first turns in October in Michigan!
    WOW!

They said it was too early!

I'm thinking Pete wouldn't know any better if I hiked South Peak and hit the dark side

    Sorry
No trip report or pics for last weekends fun. I kinda skied in my back yard. We live in a phenomenal hilly area, and I just couldn't resist throwing my stuff together and getting some early stoke going.

If we get another dump before the hills open up, I'll grab my camera on the way out the door. I promise!

Was at Boyne Mtn over the weekend... it snowed. Just enough to make the top of FIS (lookers right) turn just a wee bit white for an hour or so...

    Quote of the Week
"I want to congratulate you on a spectacular opening of South Peak Saturday. The snow was perfect, the grooming was superb, the sun was shining, and the lift ops had big smiles on their faces. "Charlie" was particularly great as it continues to be the best single ski run in the lower peninsula bar none. Kudos to the whole Caberfae Peaks staff for all their hard work in making this season's South Peak opener a rousing success."
