    METS METS METS

    FKNA.........great win last night.

I'll be at the game tonight and hope they can make it tall the way to the world series.

I would have loved to seen a subway series but the worst team money can buy choked (again).

The curse of Gay-Rod lives on and George can save 23 million and just pay me 2 million to strike out with bases loaded.

I'll be at game 4 of the W.S.
    Don't worry...no jinx here.
    Mets are a juggernaut.
If Maine gets in trouble, we'll be seeing 3-4 innings out of Heilman.

Oh yeah, what a class act Poolholes is:
"[Glavine] wasn't good," Pujols said. "I think we hit the ball hard. We didn't get some breaks."

The mets WS win was the highlight of 1986 for me. They better win again, 2006 hasn't exactly been a banner year for me either.

    Maybe.

Anyone on this pitching staff has balls unlike that fucktwad Estes who throw a 50 mph fastball 4 feet behind Clemens.

there's been all this talk of walking pulhols,
glavine sacked up and made him a non-factor.
he's got sour grapes and thinks he can intimidate maine by putting glavine down.
first of all from now on albert must be called:

    A-'hols

especially if he keeps performing as he did last nite.
    and nice baserunning JONG!
glavine kept the pen rested, and maine has the stuff.

tonite mets will need to make things happen, which means reyes needs to be patient and see alot of pitches. and break out. mets have already swept through these 4 games with him factoring little in all but one game.
better to see some met batters strike out than hit 1st and second pitches. high pitch count also impacts game seven...which isn't gonna happen, but it'll get into the larussa's head, and carpenter could get pulled prematurely.

and yes, instead of walking A-'hols, one HBP should be kept in the arsenal for the right time, should it come.
chin music - maybe from billy in the 9th. it's gotta come from an elder superstar type.

i still think mets are gonna find a way to sweep through this one too...look who's hitting after A-'hols. keep 1+2 batters off the bases and all will be fine.

i envy you elevens! shea will be cold+rocking tonite!!

I have great memories of the last time we faced the Cards in the NLCS in 2000

I went to all three games at Shea - those were not enjoyable times.

Hopefully, our bats will wake from their annual Fall stupor to get us a game tonight. Truthfully, I am not too confident.

    Bring back Terry Pendleton

I was at game 6 in 200 and thought the stadium was going to fall down after Todd hit the double in the 8th.

Ouch! most deflating game I've ever been too. The ride home on the 7 train was brutally depressing.

Hard loss. But the Mets will bounce back.
I wish we could somehow clone Endy Chavez and put him in RF.

yea, green has made nady look like a speed demon out there.
he looks terrible coming in on short flies too...unfortunately milledge was shaky in the field too.
the only good that came out of that game is that reyes has broken out, and will be a huge factor from here on.
delgado's blasts were wasted, but he's gotta have some more of those to come.
mets win tonite, and all will be fine. trax is an old pro, and will rise to the occasion.

Mets pitching was terrible...For having the best bullpen in MLB...they certainly choked last night....They let a winable game-at HOME- get away...and used up a lot of arms in doing so.....

In game 1, the Cards were hitting the ball hard. The problem was, they hit it hard right at the players,& it resulted in mulitple double plays. The mets weren't hitting it at all until the seeing eye grounder & the 3-2 meatball down the pipe to Beltran who crushed it.Other than that, the Mets didn't hit the ball well at all.

I don't think Glavin pitched as well as the score indicated either.

    tonite's 12-5 was a much needed
to the cards and their faux spiezio red soul patch wearing fans.

like the mets we've watched and loved (or for the same reason hated all season), the bats were pretty relentless.

i wonder how many of the old bags with their spiezio patches will be wearing theirs tomorrow after his shoddy defense and big whiff in the fifth.

i was looking for a violent blowback for games 2 and 3.
none of the a-hols/spiezio chin music i was hoping for, but the offensive onslaught was the next best thing.

whatever happens tonite, mets will return to shea

Great game indeed. As I was watching, I was saying to take Perez out after the 4th. But I suppose given the lead and given the need for more bullpen rest, you gotta let the kid go as long as possible without putting the game in great danger.

As for today, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain. If not, look for another slugfest with Heilman prepared to come in.

BTW - I think St. Louis' bullpen allowed 1 run in 20 1/3 innings this postseason, then gets shalacked for 10 runs in game 4.

BTW #2 - glad to see all those empty seats behind homeplate in the 6th inning.
Who was it saying their fans are so diehard?

the funniest was listening to whatshisname from 1010wins trying to interview Cards fans on the way out
"are ya leaving? its only the 5th inning"
    "hey why are you leaving"

We've got our Moxie back.......last night was a must win game and the bats finally woke up......now if it can only rain tonight so Glavine can start on his regular rest....we'll be coming back to Shea in great shape.

I'm going to game 6 and the last time I saw an NLCS game six at Shea it was against the Cards in 2000 and we all remember how that turned out.

    Let's go Mets.
