    Springs in Freerides?????

This past weekend I broke a pair Freerides at the povit point.
So last night over some beers with some budds at the bar they told me to get the springs for the Freerides!!!!
Has anyone heard of doing this and does it help out the binders????
    Thanks

The Diamir II come standard with the springs while the Freeride doesn't. Some people like having the spring for walking because it helps the binding snap back down to the ski. Other slike the free pivot.

I'm not sure if it will prevent the breakage problem you have, but it is easily retrofitted to the Freeride. Under the toepiece there is a small stud visible, the spring has a hook and the end of the spring attaches via the hole that is on the side of the toepiece near where the central rod exits towards the rear of the binding.

I bought a pair of springs recently in Nelson, BC from Rivers, Oceans and Mountains store for about $15. Most good shops should stock them I think.

The springs should absorb some of the shock on the pivot point while in touring mode. I guess touring without themcould make it atrophe after lots of use. Still sounds like a warantee issue to me though.
    Peace
