Sweet mate. I was only a jump away from starting aff before moving to this crackhead country. Jumping here is just too much money so Ive given up on it. Thats one of the coolest facking rushes Ive ever had in my life. Was also always scared shitless walking out on the wing of the airplane before letting go on static.

I never did static, just went straight to freefall. Its funny though, im actually WAY more scared standing on top of a 30 or 40 foot cliff on my skis than I am jumping out of a plane. Youre so high in the air that the brain cant comprehend it very well, and I feel no fear on exit. Best feeling in the world.

I agree... it's so surreal. I'm damn scared of heights yet I tumbled out the door of the plane like it was nothing. Not a shred of fear. When I moved back to the states after NZ I wanted to do the AFF program so bad... I could see myself becoming so addicted to skydiving. Unfortunately when I heard the pricetag that comes with it I decided to wait until I got a real job.

Anyhow, congrats on your cert... have fun! Maybe I'll join you in a couple of years.
Not on here much anymore. Drop me an email if you want to contact me. Have a wonderful winter!

static jumps I did were at 5000? Low enough to see all the freakin ants below and not high enough to feel surreal like on an aff or tandom jump. Am actually more scared rockclimbing at XX feet than jumping too.

Its on my list of things to do. I've done 2 tandem jumps and passed all that stuff, so if I stuck with the same place I've have a 3rd tandem then AFF would start, but now I'm in KC and want to find a school closer to here. Never was really keen on the last place either... Congrats though!

where did you go that you NEED tandems to do AFF? I did one tandem just for fun, but at mile high skydiving you dont have to have done tandem before to do AFF, although it is HIGHLY recommended in case you freak out.
