    Wolf Creek opening possible...???

We've been getting HAMMERED by rain in D-town and it's been snowing in the mountains. The rivers are going OFF right now. The San Juan in Pagosa went from 300cfs to 2300cfs OVERNIGHT. The Animas in Durango went from 300cfs two days ago, to 6500cfs. That's almost double what it peaked at this spring.
The mountains have to be getting hammered if the snow level dropped, which I'm pretty sure it did.
Wolf creek hasn't updated it's snow report, but I'll bet they've got atleast a start to a significant base. I'm guessing Silverton is getting hammered as well. Might go up and try to BC it tomorrow behind Silverton (if I can kick this stupid ass cold).
Keep your eyes open people...next weekend could be money

Ah, you'll get over the cold in time but you'll be kicking yourself (and we will kick you too) if you don't go slay it and bring back photos.

WC doesn't look too good for turns. and this southerly flow is almost hot. Damn. Need the cold front to mix with the moisture.

I think your as much in danger of an aneurism as pneumonia! Calm down, go hike, have fun, and freaking relax...

Don't you know it doesn't start snowing at Wolf Creek until Halloween? That place goes from nothing on the ground to a 4' base within the matter of 36 hours.

Yeah, but every thing has been three weeks early this year. Spring, they turned off the big fan, summer, the last frost, the monsoon season, Sept snow, they turned the big fan back on... All of it, three weeks early.

The Animas is bigger than I've ever seen it (I missed the 8500 flow 2 years ago), so I'm thinking I've gotta go hit it this afternoon before it drops again. Hopefully turns will be had tomorrow

    Zowie! You shit us not.

Holy shit! I never saw one go off the chart like this.

Definately could be season opener if it's in the form of flakes up there.

Ed to add: If the temps would just kick down a few on Red... Woot-woot.

Too bad it's so flat that the only thing fun to do there is to jump off chairlifts....Or you could snowboard if you feel really gay.

I passed blurred last season just before the summit. He seemed incoherent and refused to be rescued via snowboard. I had no choice but to leave him. I did push him out of the skin track though, and packed in his post holes.

This season is so gonna suck. Silverton in November is a total no go.

Year to Date Snowfall is 51 inches at Wolf Creek!

Our tentative opening day is Friday, October 27, 2006. We are dependent on the snow, therefore this date may change pending weather conditions.

If the temps cooperate Silverton might be able to start spinning the lift soon too. Might be worth laying down $29 for a g-card this season even if you only make a few trips down to the san juans.
