This might be a long shot, but I'm looking for a cross bike or frame for fairly cheap, so I can try my hand at this crazy sport. Ideally it would have a 54-55.5 cm top tube. Thanks.

I have a Large KHS CX 200 brand new. Frame and Fork. $350
I think large sounds too big. Do you know what the TT length and seat tube length are? Is this the soft tail edition?
I have a buddy selling a Kona Jake the Snake. It's a 56cm.
spec list is as follows.
56cm frame limited edition 2 tone paint job
project 2 cro-mo fork
105 shifters/deraillers

truvativ elita 48/39 crankset
salsa bell lap bar
chris king hubs laced to 32h mavic open pro rims
kenda cross supreme tires
koski seatpost
terry fly ti saddle
i don't remember what kind of cassette is on it but it's a 12/27.

Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

This year they are all aluminum. Check the link above for geometry
Cross bike sizing: I am still a cross JONG, but did pick up a cross bike for this season. I bought a Redline Conquest Pro frameset, I typically ride a 54/55 (depending on the method of measurement) and bought a 52cm cross bike. The top tube is shorter than my road bike, but the fit is perfect. I road a friend's Specialized cross rig in a 54 and it seemed big.
I e mailed redline when I getting ready to decide, and they said to go a size down from my road bike. But I have seen others say you don't need to do down a size. A 54 Redline would have been too big for me.
Bump, still looking.
Pow-
You still looking sans wheels?
