I wanna clarify, I don't think there's anything wrong with powderface waiting for the check to arrive before shipping. That's his call and certainly fits within the trust of this board. But there is something wrong with him calling out someone for NOT waiting.

And lookie here: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=63030 A thread about someone who sent money first and hasn't received the goods. Point proven, it's all based on trust, someone has to trust someone in these transactions, and whichever side does the trusting can get screwed...

Give him one more chance, wait a New York Minute then ut him.

Even if he is broke, he could email saying so.

Maggot qualifications? Nah, that shit's dumb. People will just understand the maggot code by registering.

BTW, go ahead and fucking out his ass. I'm really fucking tired of slow paying, slow shipping motherfuckers. If I don't move on something in ANY deal within 3 days, I MAKE SURE to send a message letting them know the situation. Not doing so is plain fucking wack. Hope you're reading this Arkin harkin banks or whatever the fuck your name is.

Or it's called common sense. What vano should have done is taken the matters in his own hands. He has the address of where the guy lives. Buy a plane ticket, bring a baseball bat and teach him a lesson, instead of coming on the boards whinning that someone took my skis and hoping his money will magically appear in the mail box. Get over it.

So you're perfectly willing to send money and wait for the guy to send your gear, or do you only sell things online? Goes both ways, bro - as Danno says someone has to trust.

Of course I wouldn't send $15,000 but I will happily send a few hundred to a maggot in good standing. Worst case is the person turns out to be a theiving piece of shit and I'm out a few hundred. Sucks, but not such a huge deal. Bigger ticket items like a Rolex or a car? - no fucking way. That gets done in person - preferably at the bank since it seems forged cashiers checks are all the rage these days.

Again proving that you know nothing about how this community works.

There is no plane ticket needed. We handle shit like this in house.

Agree with Danno et al on the need for trust.
Do you know if said Maggot is friends with anyone on the board?
Might want to try to PM them again before the outting commences.

    Holy shit storm...

I am giving Benedict some more time to make things right. While him screweing me is a small but realistic possibility, I still feel in my heart that this is just a mixup. If I don't hear from him in the next week or two I will find someone in the area that might a) know him and kick him in the butt to get online and respond to my PMs or b) make sure he is alive and well.

As I said, I can live without the money, they were used twin tips. Its just the principle. Futhermore, if Benedict intentionally screwed me out of the money, I feel that it is my responsibility to warn others in the community.

His personal mailing address will not be published.

Hmmm, did you TRUST them? What if one of them screwed you? Why is that so different than this situation?

I agree. I recently sold some bindings on the board. The person that bought the bindings paid for them about 2-3 hours before the post office closed, and I felt bad because I couldn't get them out before the weekend.

    Good call.

It's weak he hasn't contacted you with an explanation for the late payment, but maybe he's got a good reason (run over by a dumptruck, etc.)

Better to give a fellow mag the benefit of the doubt, for a while longer, anyways...

    THEN IT"S ON!!

Yes, it is about the principle. This is some fucked up shit, and maggots will not stand for this! This guy is fucked if he is trying to screw you over. Out this guy now!

You are doing a disservice to all maggots if you don't out him now.

There is no reason he shouldn't be responding to his PMs when he knows he owes you money, unless he is in a hospital bed somewhere.

I've heard things work well if you can get a direct line - but a bunch of the people that told me that can't tell mozart from a dial tone.

keep in mind that, despite the large number of posts, this thread has all gone down within 6 hours.

and it's possible that he was away from the board. it is backpacking season after all. or something like that.

then again, if you just release his name, big deal. yeah, he screwed up. it's not like it warranties the death penalty or anything. If it was me and I was late on paying I'd just apologize, send the money, maybe include a little beer for late payment, and not worry about being "outed." plus if he has friends on the board and you release his name it's usually them who will fill you in--"he's in the hospital/nepal for two weeks/he's being a cunt and I will personally smack him"--that kind of thing.
