I give you...The Alpine Loop Fall Spacktacular

About 25 miles from SLC lies the Alpine Loop. You can access it from American Fork Canyon or from Sundance as well. The place has more photo ops than the playboy mansion, and seriously is one of the more stunning locations on this planet. Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. Typically, I like moody clouds with fall foliage, but I was in the mood for the classic gold leaves/blue sky scenes. Sunrise was awesome--mist rolling up, elk bugling, blah blah blah. I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking.

This one's not from the Alpine Loop, but a good fall pano just the same.

So many photos, so little time. Fall makes me wish I was a full-time photog more than any other period of the year...

I really like the shots with the late in the day magic light. It really gives the leaves a nice luminance.

Did you hear my saw? I was cutting just on the other side of that first ridge in the first picture.

You did NOT just say luminance.

Fine stuff right there. These pics bring a sense of peace and tranquility. Thanks for putting these up.

This one would look great blown up and framed on my office wall:

    Strong work, Griz. Strong work.

If you decide to do that, I would be willing to support you while you got established.

You know, emotionally. Like with internet posts and high-fives at the trail head.

    Think it over.

If I had a nickel for every trailhead high five I've gotten....I'd be rich as hell. We'd live like kings, and I'd take over the world--all through the power of the HAI FI!!

I will need emotional support when my wife leaves me because I don't make any money. High five that, biatch.

    Hey Grizz,

You probably already know this but Butler Fork is IMHO the best place along the Wasatch in the fall. Your pics remind me that I need to get up on Timp for a quick overnighter before it gets socked in. Way to fuel the fall stokage!

    Awesome images.
We had similar conditions when powstash took me up there, and we took all those sweet pictures.
I might have to follow iski's lead and get a print of that last one for my birthday (doing me part to save your marriage).
Now watch me become what I can become.

Heh, figures. I was supposed to go up the morning to take some pics, but got dog sick the night before, probably from being up the same canyon taking pics.

Oh well, stellar shots as always grizzer.

Here are a few of mine from the night before, with cloudy skies.

Very, Very Nice Griz...we spent the weekend up at Daniels Summitt, hiking, horsback riding, fishing at The Berry. Must have said something about the color to my wife 50-times a day. It was pretty spectacular, especially the SE side of Timp, Deer Creek, and Middle Provo.
