I too, am in for a mini - I teach in Columbus at Mad River (I know, I know…) most of December through March, then out to Tahoe City whenever I have free time till May. Hey Particle, I'm in the C-Bus, hit me up for a beer or 7 some time. Oh and Baconzoo, thinking about making the trip for the rails, wine and beer. Glad to see somebody is going to hook up the Peak with a better park this year.

Egon, you’ll be so wicked impressed with Alpine, taught an ex-girlfriend to ski the lake effect blower there….blower? And poor Clearfork, my young high school days as a "Courtesy" Patrol.....AKA, slutty High school girl patrol.

I just wanted to stop by to post in this outstanding thread and to let you know that here in the west we refer to it as the middle east.

This area is the midwest. then you have mountains then west.

When i worked for a ski tour operator in Boulder, I recieved a phone call from a ski club president from california, He says, umm yeah, we were wanting to run a trip to the midwest to do some skiing. I was stunned, and asked why the hell he would want to do that. He stated that he heard the skiing was supposed to be really good in Colorado. It's all perception, I guess.

...I can't believe I'm about to say this.

The Mrs. and I will join in on a Midwest Mini this year.

ok, now I'm going to go in the corner and cry. looking at the maps of those mountains I keep thinking "oh, that's not too bad" and then remember it's so cold in the midwest you don't really go outside when you ski, but rather sit in the lodge, so it'll all be ok.

Oh snap! I forgot RB was another Utard relocated to the mid-east this year too! My wife is heading up to your city in a week or so. Then we'll be back up to Chicagoland end of October.

As for the location part, Ohio is still the east. If it's the eastern time zone, it's the east. And Indy, my college roommate (from CA) thought that Colorado was the midwest too...heh.

Just which do you call east coast and which do you call west coast on Lake Michigan?

RB, how about some of that good ol' Utard snow forcasting this winter. Please tell me the lake effect will be really good this year, after last year we need it. Also what station do you work for in Chitown? I'll have to check it out as we have a few big city stations on my cable network. Once the snowmaking starts, if you plug Swiss Valley, I can get you free passes, and I'll buy the beer in the chalet.

Nohills, I will be heading east to Jay Peak Vermont in December, I mentioned the other areas as places I am willing to travel to for a midwest mini, and would be glad to pick up for some car pooling.

You're welcome to come along. It is a club trip I am glomming onto, It is a sweet deal. Less than $350 gets you 5 days lodging slopeside, Lift tix, parties, and 2 sit down meals per day. All you have to do is get there. We can swing by Ft Fun on our way and you can ride along in the van.

Mr.Nohills is welcome to come along, does he mind watching? Just kidding. Not a very kid friendly trip though. Dates are Dec16 - 22 I think. PM if interested.

I'm at WFLD, channel 12 on cable in most places, or 32 over the air. I've skied Swiss Valley once, and talked about it lots on the air in the past - I did weather at WSBT TV 22 in South Bend from 1994 to 1996 before moving to Utah! We'll definitely make the trek over, some of my good friends live in Kzoo so we'll be coming over that way this fall/winter.

What city do you live in?

    Shit that sounds bad.
