TR: Westport, WA as good as the PNW surf gets

Swell said 5-8 for the weekend no winds and sun in all of places Westport. Never been there when winds haven't been howling and it hasn't been pissing rain. Needless to say we were in for some epic surf. Drove down fri from Vancouver and surfer sat and sun. I just snapped some quick shots both days. They are not of us since we were too stoked to jump in and surf. If any of these pics are of you maggots let me know and I'll send you the full version. Haven't really been stoked on cold water surfing since coming back from Hawaii last summer but this session has got me hooked again.

Sat morning some awesome waves rolling in

    the groins

always good to be surfing with cute girls too bad shes taken

haha yeah id take a hawaiian in a fantasy surf pool anyday but can you guys surf cold water. i remember when i was on the big island hawaiians would wear winter coats when it dropped below 80 degrees.

and the other thing that was so nice about westport these last two days was everyone was chill and relaxed. although it was crowded there were no local assholes

Did anyone read the TSJ wright up about Aloha, WA? Seams there is quite the bro/brah connection up there.
If you had a nickel for every nickel he has, you would have a lot of fuckin' nickels!

oh man I have never seen the groins that good. people will sit out there when it is such shit. Even though I was surfing better waves down here I kinda wish I'd been back home for a day like that.

I was at the Westport jetty on September 23, 2006 and it was doing its best Playa Naranja/Witch's Rock imitation. Long period shoulder/head high swell with heavy, heavy, offshore. What Westport lacks in asthetic beauty, it makes up for in consistent quality.

Here's some pics of the groins from last January:
