Epic spring skiing in the Andes

Good freezes the last few nights has given way to epic corn here in Las Leñas. I will post pix later, but with no one here, it is very smooth and perfect skiing. That is all, peace out!

Not a good freeze last night but taking advantage of places it had previously slid served up some more great skiing. No one around!

    Celos
    pudo el amor ser distinto
    redes
    trampa mortal en mi camino
y en un café , un café de ciudad
me contaste otra vez tu destino

    Celos
    celos en suelo argentino
    fiebre
y mi ilusión que se deshizo
mientras te burlas de mí en tu canción
no me puedo librar del hechizo
Ich bitte dich nur, weck mich nicht.

Here is a nice sequence on Icaro. Human Error, Sin Salida skied great too. Very windy at the base and Los Molles, but the top of Marte was clam, go figure.

Without that tower (first shot), I think it would be damn near impossible for newbies to navigate the front side of LL.

Glad to see the corn is holding up. Sweet shots!

This one is located right next to the entrance to the top of Eduardo's, easy to find.

A nature shot from the other day at the Piscis. Zorro sure was friendly. 2-3 inches at the base as of 4:20. Rock on!

New snow and a textbook wind event on Wednesday night. Thursday, powder, corn, breakable, the whole ensalada fruta. Marte opened at 11:15 after the grooming job was completed. Today, Friday, huge wind event. We are now primed for smooth spring skiing if we get the proper freeze thawing.

Thanks for the kudos. Well, after reading y'alls northern hemi reports in our summer, I decided to try to return the favor. Makes the off season go by a little faster. Suerte!

Very smooth corn skiing today. After cold temps and wind of the last few days, the corn was perfecto. Also, high peaks are still holding powder. Corn or Powder, a difficult decision indeed.

Today, sunday, Las Leñas is blessed with more high winds. Not much going on. The locals are getting ready for the big River Boca game. Here is a shot from Sans Nom from yesterday. With the road burned out, you can put a car shuttle right at the bottom and have a $ backcountry lift accesed corn run.

On a side note, any idea how to make it a full picture instead of a thumbnaill?

Look around over in Ask TGR for some thread cussing about pics. I saw something there. - right click on managed copy and then paste info / insert with the lil' yellow mountain looking insert image button's pop up window blah-blah somethin or other... Maybe that'll help.

Currently a very questionable late season Marte wind hold closure unfolding. Two days ago, Sunday, it was very windy in the morning but very calm in the afternoon. Due to the River-Boca game, don´t think they made an effort to open. Yesterday, amazing corn skiing. A new policy was in effect. Nothing on the frontside after 1pm, due to wet slides coming down of the piste. But in addition to that, no access to the south wall and even Human E. This is really unfortunate since after 1pm is when they are taken shape. Today, just spent an hour at Santa Fe looking up at Marte. We have definetly seen the chair running with alot more wind. Bottom line, the clock is ticking, the snow is very smooth and the corn is ripe. Forecast looks like snow coming. Oh, this heroin addiction is tough sometimes. Peace out!

Currently dumping in Las Leñas. Forecast is calling for a total of 2+ feet up high. Will there be another Marte session before the resort closes on Monday? Or will all this new snow sit untouched. That is the 3 million peso question.
