    OK, you Brits are crazy

So I take a little break to eat something and turn on the tv and do a little surfing. I pass by VS's, or what was OLN and what are they showing but Darts live from someplace in England. The crowd is jumping around, waving signs, sreaming, etc. Then two fat guys enter the arena like something out of the Hulk Hogan type wrestling events and face off at...Darts. It would be one thing if they were throwing darts at each other but this is just bar darts. And the announcer is going on like it's a prize fight. God and I thought soccer (oops football) was like watching a haircut.

Roo, is this really a popular thing?

    Good Luck,
    Jay

And how they have their own gravitational field? Darts is awesome. Don't ever let me play after a certain point of drunkeness, it seems I prefer to perform 'experiments' as to which materials I can make darts stick in to throwing them at the board. Word to the wise - throwing dart at concrete = smashed dart, it just won't stick

Oh yeah, they are good. But the crowd blows me away. I went to a boxing event in Vegas a few years ago and the crowd reaction is very similar. It just surprises me that they can sell advertising for darts.

    ONE UNDERT AN EIGHTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the announcer for that(at least the guy who does it for fox sports) Its right up there with the Mexican soccer announcer.

I was watching once and a dude threw a perfect game, all triple 20s and a double 17 or something. The crowd went absolutely nuts, they stopped the match for like 5 mins, they were even singing that soccer song, the "ooooo-ley, o-ley, o-ley, ooo-ley" one, its was crazy. Also, not too many lookers playing darts or watching. Seems like good looks and an interest in darts are mutually exclusive.
