    Question Goggle Fog. Any remedies?

Ok, so I've got some Spy goggles (I don't remember the exact model) and love the things. They stay perfectly clear on puking storm days, but a light fog develops inside the lenses when it's sunny. Still usable, but highly annoying.

So, anything I can do to fix it? Or should I just get a new pair of lenses (which brings up the question of where to pick up new ones)?

Edit: for stupidity: the fogging is between the lenses. Somehow "inside" came out, when "between" was thought of.

There is this stuff out for scuba diving goggles to keep them from fogging. I think they are called Sea Drops or something. That might work, but do a bit of research first, lots of goggles have a coating on the inside of the lense and you might damage it putting something else on.

Smiths or Scotts. Get the ones for glasses if you have a hot face.

My experience with Spy was highly unsatisfactory. I always kept them clean, didn't clean them with paper products etc., they fogged constantly, finally got rid of them. Maybe try the anti-fog goggle cloths, but I don't think it helps much.

    Is it between the lenses?

You sir, have a split lens. Moisture between means you need a new lens.

And I'm with Buster, it was a recomendation, Smith's or Scott's.

And apparently today, I'm an idiot. Sorry Buster.

Dammit. I like the goggles, they fit perfectly. And I don't really wanna spend the $ on new ones. There's got to be remedies out there somewhere.

And Caddy, I don't think the lenses are split, or if they are, it's a micro because I've never noticed anything.

There's only one way to get fog between goggle lenses: if they are split.

I know the price sucks but I love my A-Frames. IF they do fog its only for two seconds and its gone. spend the cash if you have it. Its worth it.

If they are fogging between the lenses, you should replace it as there is moisture between them that is condensing on the cold plastic outer - right?

Have your gogles in hand and call Pro Lens at 1-800-776-5367. They can get you a replacement for just about anything ever made. (They even had spares for a 15 year old pair of UVEXs my wife would not part with because she likes the purple)
Good runs when you get them.

I use a product called "Cat ", which comes in a little case and you just rub a little on the surface of the goggles and it has worked really well so far. I have only rubbed it on the outside lense so far because the goggles I have already have fog-x on the inside. I also use another product called zook which is a spray on and that also works very well and you can spray the inside and outside of the lense.

    Duh, no.
Allow me to respond in a complete sentence which may be of greater illumination regarding the topic at hand:

honestly there is nothing more annoying and frustrating than foggy goggles. My friends smith triads were fogging between the lenses and at first i thought he was just being a whiny bitch, but i tried them on and i wanted to scream. I was skiing like an old woman, it's unbearable when you can't see a thing. But sorry no remedies for in between the lenses.

I have had some spy blizzards for about a year that would usually be ok but fog like crazy when I inevitably biff hard and get snow packed in the little vent things on the front. Pissed me off so much, I just got some new triads with a mirrored rose lense of ebay for about 45 bucks, and so far they are sweet.

I guess i really dont have anything much to add to this thread, just repeating everyone else..

500 PSI Dive Mask Defog (available at your local dive shop) this stuff is the best stuff ever! It's made to keep dive masks from fogging in the oh so wet environ of the OCEAN and to keep them defogging even after the mask has been flooded several times. This is something you put on in the morning before leaving your place (water is required and you must let the goggle foam dry) but it should last you all day if not several.

For on the slopes... Cat rules the roost.

if they're split and you're really into trying to save them without spending cash, maybe, and this could bet messy, some caulk around the seam after all the moisture has escaped.....or how about crazy glue around the seam....never tried it myself but i think it should work.

I agree with the new lens remedy. The Smith antifog cloth isn't bad, nor is Cat . Then again, I also recommend buying some A Frames, it's crazy how efficient the airflow system is.

    never tried it BUT........

suposedly if you get moisture between the lenses if you dunk the goggles completely underwater and then let them completely dry out in a non humid place SUPPOSEDLY that will fix the problem....you might wanna give it a try
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

when I used to have spys, every pair of leses foged up, there is something with hte way htey seal them, either bad seels or they are being manufactured in a area with high humidity. A good cheap cure if you dont have the $$$$ for new lenses is to bake them in your oven @ aproxiamtely 200 degrees for around 5 min. place them on a cermaic plate so that they dont get burned by the oven rack. Keep a eye on them and if there is any sign of them curling or warping remove from hte oven imediatly. after they have been baked for several minute remove and procede to pinch the lenses all the way around this will reseal the lesnes.

    Good luck

I just had a pair of A frames go literally opaque on me. I took good care of them, vented them everyday, etc, and then one day i took a digger off a cliff, they filled with snow, i guess i cracked the lens, and all the moisture is between the lenses. I took a knee to the face off the cliff, so i prolly did crack a lens. Anyway, i pulled lens apart, because it was fucked and i was curious. I couldn't the residue from the water vapor off with a soft sponge and hot soapy water. I doubt dunking them in water would do anything at all.
