Does doing 41 MPH in a 20 MPH school zone qualify for stupidity?

The part of you doing 41 MPH and the part of it being a 20MPH school zone, I understand that perfectly. What am I missing?

    Angry

No, I can take it. And yes, on it's surface, 41 in a 20 is irresponsible.

Is speeding the equivalent of not understanding how to operate a vehicle correctly? Is speeding the same as leaving the gas hose in your car as you drive away? How about sliding off the road into a ditch? Or driving drunk and spewing about it on the Internet. Read things and see things for what they are, not what they appear to be.

Sadly, you are asking far too much of 99% of any sample group.

Speeding in a school zone with a high potential of hitting a child = very stupid

Speeding down the highway because you can't figure out how to stop your car and potentially hitting another car or striking a pedestrian= very stupid

Who is this 99%? Are we part of the 99%? Is everyone else fucking stupid and not me? Let me be the judge of me, I'm a fucking idiot, I know that. Part of the problem someone says something like everyone is fucking stupid but stated in a way where everyone else is an idiot but not them. It's the exclusionary us versus them mentality that creates divisions such as this. The measure of intelligence is subject to far too many factors, that to judge someone as stupid because they didn't know what to do because their car sped out of control is presumptious at best and ignorant at worst.

Hmmm, just a bit. My lights were covered in shit so I couldnt see anything so it was probably a good thing you were behind me or I would have wound up in the woods. Too many years of track sessions sometimes cause me to drive more aggressive than I should.

The Cars wasn't haunted...I thought most GM products did this in cold weather....MY buddies sunfire used to jam throttle wide, but being a stick you just had to be able to drive....my chevy3/4 van had the same habit but being auto and old enough not to have a rev limiter we developed an iteresting way of dealing with it....can't shut down because the steering would frezz and the brakes would no longer function , and as this only happen goijng up steep hills we would glance the snowbank, a deeper hit each time till the impack caused the throttle to back off......driving a freinds old VW bus across europe the trottle jammed in Calais, didn't bother fixing it till austria, didn't raly change how you drove the thing though....flat out at all times under power and the timing being so far out it wound't make 6000 ropm!

I knew a guy who was about to get a monster speeding tickt, but instead of just pulling over he sped down the break down lane into a football field and then slammed on the brakes and turned his car off. he jumped out and proclaimed he was lucky to be alive cus his accelorator was stuck and he couldn't control his speed....not sure i believed the guy, but it made a good story when he told it.

The part I don't get is

“It’s a dangerous maneuver. Had they misjudged, one or both cars would have sped out of control. It worked like clockwork,”

How the hell would the cop car speed out of control? Would trying to slow down one car automatically cause the cop car to have it's throttle jammed? If the move didn't work couldn't the cop just move back over and slow down? I love journalist's, looks like all the weed and Key-Ice paid off for most of them.

Um, that was a direct quote from the officer. Why don't you re-read the article, then try again.

    "Spun" vs "sped."

The idiocy of the driver in the story is supposed to be the part nobody gets.

    What a waste!

I'm going to rig my car so I can blast down the highway, weave through traffic, run from the cops, and get off scott free!! Sweet!

I agree with Pinner for sure. 45 minutes???!!! Did any logic cross her mind? Turn key off/switch to neutral/pushinclutch/pull fuses/parkingbrake/realbrakes? Could the police not talk to her on the phone to talk sense into her? What a joke.

Another person who is contaminating the gene pool....
