Mntlion Update Sept 22 1900hrs

well we made it and so will he... we had our own epics along the way and there is a poor soul from Avom CO with a brand new truck with some scratches down the side cuz I hydroplaned into him. We are OK but our car has a few pieces missing. The saint of a Highway Patrol Officer sent us on our way with out getting mad at me, considering he had been working since 3AM I was impresed. ANYWAY enooungh about me:

THANKS to Yoss for the big hugs, that was fantastic and sorry to summit for missing our lunch date, we got super hungery on the other side of the pass and had already stopped so we rolled through, I reget that move in hindsight.

As for places to stay... I will move Dave's mom into the Rosa House which is the nice place for families to stay while their folks are down. I will go stay at a hotel tonight cuz I'm not convinced I should make a first impression on anyone inthe state I'm in right now 3hrs sleep in 36 so I need a good crash out.

I will contact any loving folks tomorrow and look into the possibilities of imposing then, right now I need some space and sleep.

AS FOR THE MANG:

well, he is talking, laughing (but only with his eyes cuz thats the only part that doesn't hurt when he moves it) and feeing kinda sorry for himself. He is in an ICU and is limited to clse family visitors only so please go ski something fun or rage out to Fruita for us and think of us while you do that. I'll have a better idea of move times later.

I won't turn down any offer, I'm pretty sure Sara (Dave's mom) shelled out a pretty penny for her tix to get here and she's retired so I think any funds may go to her an dthe support she needs to get here. She arrive slater tonigt.

i hope i'm not the only one, but i would like to hear more about the actual accident: how did it happen, who was at fault, etc.

i hope this is talked about because, just like with avalanches, the discussion after an accident is a valuable tool for teaching peers what to avoid or to look out for. both those with motorcycles, and those sitting behind the wheel of a car: we're all in this together.
