    Help ID some Older Skis?

I'm looking for some help ID'ing some older skis before driving 45 minutes to check them out. We found these:

    Anything worth adding?

We're waiting to hear back from the guy on lengths, but since shot glasses are on all my other old skis, I figure I'd grab a pair that I can ski without having the glasses hit me in the back when i fall into the backseat...

I think the ones on the left are Bob Burns The Ski.

    From left to right:
The Ski, The Ski, Kazama, The Ski Rossi SM, Head ?, Dynastars with SPADEMANS, unknown.

    Pic is kinda small...but...

3 prs "the ski". I think the white ones were a racing type as opposed to the blue/yellow bumpers. A buddy of mine had a pair.

Can't tell what the purple Heads are or the ski third from left.

The ski second from right looks like a pair of dura-fibers. Aircore, if so. Looks like maybe some toeless binders too.

Looks like some Rossi SM (I think)...GS type ski, post ROC 550 era.

Pair of Head shorties on end?

    All 70's era

The tall Rossis. look like 2d generation Stratos. I had a pair in the '80s. If so, very solid bomber ski in the day.

Baby shit brown....so lovely (actually..they were sooo old they had faded to olive drab). I think it might have been the same guy who tried to chat me up in the Starbucks...the one who said skis don't get old.

No...you're right...there are some orange ones for sale on Ebay (QUICK!!! Bid now!!). Perhaps these were a lower number...I didn't get too close to the guy but I do know they were the same ski I remember seeing in the 70s and they were Olin Mark something.

    He had safety straps!!

Those Rossi's are ST's, I had to get kinda close to the screen. The whole lot would make nice wainscoating in a family room. I'm working on a bar made out of old skis similar to the Snow Creek Saloon's back room. It was that or proping up tomatos.

Anyway the ST was Rossi's slamon ski I think these are late 70's. They had one more generation of the ST then went to the FP VAS (I seriously dreamed of those every night until they arrived at my door thanks to my local Rossi Rep) Man I was the shit on my HS ski team. Then came the 4s, terrible teal color but a nice ski. Still have those in a 207 for the long board days once a year.

    Good Luck,
    Jay

I think the ones with the squares are "Pre" not "The Ski". I dunno.

I just had to look. Current bid = $0.50 after 2 bids. The write up I could not pass up sharing:

Beautiful pair of OLIN MARK IV USA Snow Skis from the 1970's. Salomon Bindings.

Approximately 67 inches long by 3 inches wide. They are in very good condition for their age. Back of ski's are black with decal/printed (see photo). Metal edging. All metal bindings are marked Salomon. Skis are orange with blue lettering that has decal/printed & USA logo. Name engraved/imprinted "Peg Hennig, Demo". Also marked "R" & "L". Model number 170G68417 engraved/imprinted on side. Please see photos for details like minor rust on metal edge and one of the rubber tabs is missing but does not effect the function of binding. We are not skier's but the owner said they were downhill skis.good luck and enjoy these beautiful skis.

And this is our last set of skis unless we run across some more in the future.

I'm pretty sure it's The Ski, The Ski, Atomic, The Ski, Rossi FP, Head, Dynastar and then I can't remember the manufacturer, but they were the first on the market with the Asymmetric.

Gotta agree with nesta on the Rossi's being FP's. The stripes are different on the ST's. And it doesn't look like it says SM.
