Installing a laser shifter

Hey,

So i've had this laser shifter sitting next to my computer for the past month, I was going to wait until I got a new car (hopefully a year) before getting it installed by someone who knows what their doing (which is a few hundred) but it's just teasing me so i'm going to go for the install myself. Anyone got any tips? The rear mount should be easy since I could just do it above the license plate and just drill the wire through, but I have no idea how to do the front mounts. Also, does it matter where they're mounted? I don't want to get this shit all set up then get a ticket in the mail because I didnt mount it in the proper area.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the shifters the ZR3, and in the future ill be getting the 8500 radar detector to go along with it since they only use laser in the cities here, and my cars a 92 nissan stanza
