    Euro Resort Snow Conditions?

Greetings, I am looking for some online resources detailing the average snow coniditions (total snowfall, average base depth, etc) at European resorts. I am not having much luck searching on my own, does anyone have good recommendations for resources? I am specifically interested in Chamonix, Zermatt, Verbier, and St. Anton. Any help would be appreciated! -Geoff.

Average snow depth in the Arlberg region (1990-2000, note that within this time frame there have been some very dry winters):

    Valley floor

    X-mas: 38 cm
    February: 62 cm
    Eastern: 29 cm

    Galzig

    X-mas: 125 cm
    February: 200 cm
    Eastern: 248 cm

    Valluga:

    X-mas: 203 cm
    February: 295 cm
    Eastern: 355 cm

Source: Schmidt, F. (2001): St. Anton am Arlberg. tyrolia.

The western part of the Arlberg region (Stuben, St. Christoph, Zuers, Lech) usually has significant more snow than the Eastern part (St. Anton).

Concerning your list of European ski resorts I would make following ranking concerning snow levels:

St. Anton > Verbier > Zermatt.

Evaluating Chamonix is a little bit difficult, since the valley may have poor snow while the surrounding hills may have tons of snow.

Does the majority of the best terrain at Cham and Verb still have snow on it in, say, mid-May?

I should have been more specific about what I was asking for. Here is what I found:
Chamonix Grands Montets closed May 8 this year.
Verbier closed April 30 this year.
I wasnt able to find closing dates from past years.

Use this form to find the resort you want then click through to the snow history data on the left hand menu.
Semper in Pulveris .... Only the depth varies

Check the Snow for the Euros thread.
Somewhere in those 50something pages you will find lots of links to lots of sources of data.

google meteoswiss, eyesonsky, and meteoleysin for starters.
google swiss avalanche for the official site.
